On Juneteenth, Trump says the US has 'too many' holidays

Americans work more hours than workers in most other nations. The idea of "too many holidays" is preposterous. It is anti-labor.
A friend from overseas visited us during her vacation. She had seven/7 weeks of vacation days accumulated. IIRC, that was 2 years back in the day. Things might have changed.

Really? Name me which white America has his own holiday. I'll wait.
Blacks have 20% of the holidays targeted just for themselves. They are only 14% of Americans.
July 4th.

Its not about black and white. It's about celebrating your OWN culture and making a big deal about it because it IS a big deal. Blacks shouldn't need help from the whites, they should be celebrating on their own with enough drive and passion to keep it alive and self sustaining and pass it down to future generations.
Telling black people what to do is in appropriate.

All Americans are involved because we were all involved, don't you think?

Oh, yes the difference is QUITE significant. The article title said Trump said there were too many holidays. But Trump actually said there were too many non-working holidays.

Because a holiday isn't a holiday if people work. Or a holiday is a holiday if people work. Or something like that.

That's my sarcastic voice.
It just means that you don't understand the difference between federal holidays and national holidays.

It really is, isn’t it?

Our entire culture is permeated by some weird notion that the purpose of life is to work ridiculous amounts of hours. With minimum time for oneself or one’s family, friends, interests, etc.

It’s so very weird.
It is.

Is that why he just wanted to create a new one a few weeks ago? (Granted it isn’t a paid federal holiday at this point…but 🤷‍♀️ who knows anymore with this guy)

Given the fact that Trump has put himself and his administration in service to Israel, I’m surprised he isn’t pushing to make May 14 a national holiday.

Give me a ****in break

When will you understand that your extremist attitude is a campaign add for Trump?

Ever?

Trying to make the discussion personal doesn't change my point. All it does is signal a capitulation and an attempt to divert from the losing discussion. It is not extremist to state facts. American independence was originally for white men. Women were subservient and blacks were slaves. Women couldn't even own property. Only white men could own property and vote.

White male macho assholes now love to celebrate July 4th, but don't even acknowledge Juneteenth. Go figure. It's not like it's any kind of secret. They go nuts for white male independence but pretend freedom from slavery is insignificant; never happened.
