Ominous signs: Donald Trump, Oval Office meeting with the press today

I've seen and heard much of what Trump said today in the Oval Office. It was frightening to me. He talked about how D.C. is so much better now that the National Guard is patrolling. There was a warning from Trump to D.C. Mayor, Muriel Bowser, who was democratically elected 10 years ago. This is a quote, word for word:

"Muriel Bowser better get her act straight, or she won't be mayor very long because we'll take it over with the federal government, run it like it's supposed to be run. It's a crime infested rathole."

He went on, being very clear about his plan.

"We haven't had to bring in the regular military, which we're willing to do if we have to. And, after we do this, we'll go to another location, and make it safe also. We're gonna make our country very safe, we're gonna make our cities very, very safe. Chicago's a mess. You have an incompetent Mayor, grossly incompetent, and uh, we'll straighten that one out probably next, that will be our next one after this. And, it won't even be tough. And the people in Chicago are screaming for us to come. They're wearing red hats! (pointing to his red cap) Just like this one. African American ladies, beautiful ladies, are saying, 'Please Mr. President, come to Chicago'. I did great with the black vote, as you know. And, uh, they want something to happen. So, I think Chicago will be our next, and then we'll help with New York."

For anyone who doesn't understand Trump-speak yet, the federal government is going to take over big states, starting with blue states. Trump plan is to fire the Mayor of Chicago. In whatever state the federal government moves into, the feds will get rid of the top brass, from the Mayor down. But he's not stopping once he gets every blue state under federal control, using the military. He will move on to any other state that's a swing state.

I can't help but wonder how the men and women in our Armed Forces are going to feel about murdering fellow Americans, because I am telling you right now, it's coming. People aren't going to take it very well once their cities are under military control, and they will rise up, and they will be put down quickly. This gives Trump the authority to enact Marshall Law and cancel the 2026 election. The Republican Party would lose control of the House if he did absolutely nothing, just let things play out. He's not taking that chance, that's why the swift move forward toward his next targets, Chicago and New York City.

I really want to tell you to stop being overly dramatic, but I can't. You are describing the real problem. Congress won't do anything and the courts can't do anything. Guess who has the tanks !

Most of them are embarrassed as ****. This is not what they signed up to do in the military.

At some point, the National Guard and the active duty military will have to take a stand if they are ordered by Trump to permanently patrol U.S. cities. This violates the Constitution.

This a true claim, doesn't matter who makes it. If DC were a state, it would have the highest property crime rate, by a lot.

This feels very much like the frog in a pot situation. Trump keeps slowly turning up the heat on his move towards destroying Americas democracy so that he can stay in power until his death. The maga cult either don't see it or don't care because they are too busy celebrating owning the libs and hurting brown people. The rest of us see it, but with a completely spineless GOP congress, coupled with a broken/corrupt judiciary, there is no way to stop it. Imagine going into the 2026 elections with Trumps own armed military patrolling the streets of many Blue cities - "Papers please"! America is busy giving away what it spent 250 years building, and the cult think this is wonderful.

All it takes is one slip by a National Guard member that isn’t properly trained for civilian policing and these theatrics can go south really quick.
