What are your opinions and thoughts about the whole "if the flag touches the ground then it needs to be burned"? In todays society do you agree with this statement?

Its not even part of the US Flag Code and its a completely silly thing to do for a piece of cloth.

I'm not into that. IMO, that's a ceremonial tradition -- not one I follow in my own home. We fly a flag outside of our home . . . when it begins to fray, I throw it in the garbage. Tom picks it out of the garbage. I put it back. Tom picks it out of the garbage and hides it. I find it a month later and throw it in the garbage. Tom spies it on garbage day. Folds it up and puts it in the trunk of his car. :rofl
