Err, yeah they have. In what alternate reality do you think this is not so?Yeah right! Like Exxon has paid up for their drunkerd. The tax payers will pay in the end.....and the price of fuel?.....get ready folks!!
As Exxon's lawyers work for Exxon, not some private outside law firm, one would be hard pressed to make that case. But it is true, Exxon does pay their lawyers well. They call it a salary.Exxons lawyers have made out like bandits though.
Much like Exxon and its shareholders paid for the bulk of their little disaster. In fact Exxon and its shareholders are still paying, except in imagination land, which I suggest could also be called................. rhirefire land?Actually, the bulk of the costs for this will be borne by shareholders of BP. While the cost of fuel might go up, it won't be because of BP attempting to recoup costs, but because of reductions in present and future supply.

Except that Exxon's own legal department did handle quite a lot of the remediation work associated with the Exxon Valdez incident. But I agee with you, it is not as if nobody earned the money and they "made out like bandits" is just one of those quick and easy/shallow comments people throw out from time to time. Funny for a second, until you really think about the comment.Actually, in scenarios such as this, it will not be the inhouse lawyers that really handle anything. It will be contracted out to other law firms. These other firms will be very expensive, but the people there will work 20 hour days until this gets resolved. It will be expensive, but it is not like the lawyers do not earn the money.

I would be interested, if you had an answer, I'm just still waiting for it.
