This pesky little Middle East war that's broken out has had a little side-effect -- making OIL PRICES SHOOT UP

JUST CAN'T CATCH A BREAK, HUH?
😭

It's not all bad. We're oil producers ourselves and interest in EVs are waning, high fuel prices is exactly what's needed to keep that going.

Let's cheer for Trump's hero.

I doubt very much that you're an oil producer. Oiligarchs are oil producers. You're a consumer and for you to be rooting for higher prices because it benefits the oiligarchs is the most blatant example of 'voting' against your best interests that I've ever seen.

Can't catch a break? He's been defying Putin for years, resisting the power of Russia for years, and when something happens that's out of both of their controls looks like it might benefit Russia you're here bragging that Ukraine 'cant catch a break'?
What's wrong with you?

On the other hand, Iran won't be in a position to keep sending shit to Russia.

Russia's been taking over production of that stuff, since it's easier and more efficient to do it that way.
And you can see the Russian-made versions have been improving significantly. The Iranians have benefited from Russian re-engineering.
It's only in the beginning, when Russia was caught behind, that it had source stuff from Iran.

It's guaranteed that the Israelis will soon run out of missiles, since they have to fire more to stop the incoming Iranian ones.
The Israelis have always sought to fight short, sharp wars and have never had the capability to fight long-duration wars of attrition.

Meanwhile, the Russians will be benefiting greatly from prolonged elevation of oil prices.
Meanwhile, the USA being a net importer of oil is going to feel pain at the gas pump over prices -- unless of course it can unleash domestic production via fracking, shale, etc.

Maybe Trump can encourage a sovereign Alberta and negotiate a better oil supply deal with them.
You know he'd be totally willing to do that, right?

Elon Musk will get better sales to please shareholders

No, he's in power because Nuland cultivated him as her little pet. He was previously being patronized by a Ukrainian oligarch, but Nuland had that guy arrested and put away, so that she could take over. and cultivate Zelensky directly.
Certainly Zelensky's not the one dying - he's just taking all the bows while sending others to die.
He'll be cooling his heels in Israel when he flees Ukraine in the end, after draining them of all their people in a futile war.
His name will be remembered in infamy, not gratitude.

Every week Ukraine continues to resist is a victory.

We have plenty of oil here, we do not need for it. So, what happened to "Drill Baby Drill"?

Nuland's plans aren't working out.

Israel-Iran conflict may not end so quickly, even though Israel has a need for it to.

North Korea has now announced it will provide military support to Iran in the current conflict.

I read that as meaning Iran won't necessarily run out of missiles anytime soon. I also more deeply read that Nuland & Co who started Russia-Ukraine war to keep Russia preoccupied and unable to poke its nose into Middle East, have once again neglected all potential possibilities, as Iran has had a history of relations with North Korea too, and has now reached out to it for help.

Iran and North Korea represent a dual problem. The US collusion in the sneak attack on Iran can only tip off North Korea that a similar fate awaits it, just as Libya's Qadafi rudely discovered in the past. Hence, North Korea's motivation to intervene while the odds are better.

This North Korean support does not appear to have been in the contingency planning of Israel or USA. Which means that Israel/USA will now have to lurch into some new ad-hoc stunt to deal with this new development. Could that mean a new military coup in S.Korea? (As we know, the most recent right-wing coup there failed, when their entire citizenry revolted against it.) But leave it to American Cold Warriors to act like a Bull-in-a-China-Shop and trample on yet another country in ham-fisted style, thus further straining their ties with the rest of the world.

Israel appears to have now targeted Iranian gas pipeline infrastructure, as the conflict escalates.
This will only drive up energy prices further, and for a longer period of time.

Talk about Netanyahu messing things up for Z! Wont be long before Zelensky accuses Bibi of acting as a Russian agent. Just when the G7 had agreed on lowering oil price cap on Russians from $60 to $45; with Zelensky screaming thats too high, to lower to $30; Bibi blows everything up

Spiking oil prices means more money for Putin, the last thing Zelensky wants. Spiking oil prices also mean it will be impossible to enforce the G7 oil price cap

Can't be, Trump is bringing prices down everywhere!

Actually most of the most important parts of the Shahed drone are make in Iran. Russia is just doing assembly. Ukraine has been targeting those assembly plants and have struck it several times.

Drones hit Russia’s Shahed drone factory 1,200 km from Ukraine again

Spiking oil prices means Trump's tariffs will no longer have their inflation masked by lower energy prices. Also the oil price cap is enforced no matter what the price of oil is.

Wrong.

Propaganda.

The Israel/Iran dust up won't last for long and then oil prices will fall again. OPEC is overproducing.

The EU is about to impose a $45 bbl cap on Russian oil and sanction more Russian ghost tankers.

In reality, Moscow needs about $110 bbl to fund its government, save some rubles in its rainy day fund, and pay its soldiers.

That's not going to happen. Russia's economy is on the verge of stagflation.

Correct. I should have said spiking oil pricers dooms the oil price cap policy to failure. Its like smuggling and bootlegging. The higher the profit the greater the incentive to smuggle.

The oil price cap was always a silly policy bound to fail anyways. The G7 could have just bannned Russian oil. They didnt because removing a significant percentage of oil from the global economy would wreak havoc. So they decided on the bizarre scheme to get Russians to sell their oil, but without making any profit! That was a violation of the fundamental principles that profit is what drives trade. The G7 scheme appeared more like something from Karl Marx's school of economics; where sales for no profit is a guiding principle
