Ohio father lines up his 3 sons, takes his gun and executes them

This happened about 15-20 minutes from me. From a brief news interview with a neighbor, there had been previous over-heard/seen lashing out from the father. Perhaps there should have already been some kind of intervention in some fashion.
Terrible outcome of what appears to have been an on going situation which was never addressed.. Too late now..

Well, that's not how the law works. As for this child-murderer's mental history, all I've read is that there was some sort of violent episode with his father in 2010 which the father now says was a big mistake.

Just stop it please. You're trying to create dissension when the fact is that normal people wherever in the world they may be are horrified by these executions. There is no "Republicans prison," and nobody sane is going to be calling this sick man a hero.

What about the 2nd amendment? There are far too many violent psychos with guns. In my experience the people who rant about an unregulated 2nd Amendment are the very people who should not be able to own a firearm.

A second or so of line voltage would solve this problem because there is no doubt about who the killer is.

Dear gawd, lining up his children to execute them, and the sheer terror the little boy must have been experiencing running into the woods, as well as the little girl running down the street screaming for help. There’s just no way to even wrap your head around this kind of horror.

it is a fair belief that those who would break the law would tend not to be the persons relinquishing their firearms
which then reminds me of the outgunned indians with bows and arrows being decimated by the guns wielded by our soldiers when displacing them from their ancient homelands. it was illegal for the native Americans (and previously, the slaves) to bear arms. the stated intent was to prevent them from engaging in malice with such firearms. the actual result was to assure their supression by those who did possess firearms
given that not-ancient history, i will defend the second amendment and the forefathers who had the foresight to include that provision in the Bill of Rights
that is as far as i will go to preserve 2A. too many defenders of the right to bear arms are afraid of the legitimate checks and balances that are essential to prevent the armament of those who have shown they are without the self discipline or mental/emotional capacity to own and bear firearms
and then there is the aspect of lax judicial enforcement of the few restrictions by those found to be improperly bearing arms, allowing them to return to the streets, insufficiently punished for their transgressions
to get back to the thread, enough is not known about this horrid 'father'/sperm donor to be able to say whether he is someone who previously exhibited the characteristics of someone who should not bear arms, in the opinion of a reasonable person

while i questioned my opposition to capital punishment in this instance, i would prefer this monster to live than to kill an innocent in my name, as a citizen. there are indications we have wrongly taken the lives of those who did not deserve it, in the name of justice. saying "my bad" is insufficient when the life of another soul is wrongly taken

those cops were fortunate the shooter was not prepared to take out those who came for him
they certainly showed little regard for their own safety/survival

It seems, though can't say there were definitive outward signs he was going lose it and do something so unimaginable. Who imagines their neighbor is going to execute their young boys...

But from the neighbors remarks, and stating "he was(still is) just an angry dude" implies an on going situation, and not just he yelled at his kids once or twice. Could at least assume their may be issues going on that need addressed for the welfare of the kids/wife.

Not that it makes anything better, but a Go Fund Me was set up with a goal of 20k for burial and has already topped 170k. Doesn't fix a thing, but at least money will be one thing the mother will not have to concern herself with for a time while daughter and her try to cope with the most horrible thing that will ever happen in their lives..

you mean other than some people's constant words about protecting kids from trans people, gay people and drag queens?

it appears that most kids get raped or killed by what our society considers "normal".

Yep, some  people.. "some people" are always going to be a percentage of the population. Doesn't really justify throwing drag queens into the mix. This appears to be a personal mental issue and not a damn thing to do with queens.

But the posted 'tweeter' and you are doing no better than "some people" by interjecting that topic into this.
About the only thing which should be talked about regarding this tragedy would be addressing mental health concerns and "see something, say something".

well, it's all over right wind media and people here are constantly start threads about it. i just don't see the rapes and murders.

and, again, i do feel your love and sympathy for the 3 little kids who were lined up and executed by their dad (although he did have to hunt one of his kids down in the woods before he blew him away).
