Did anyone watch Obama's speech at the democratic retreat? If so would you agree with me that he is nieve in thinking that he is going to get his way every step of the way during his presidency? I found him to be rather childish in his attacks against the GOP. I have been following the development of this new bailout plan very closely seeing as I will be one of the ones having to pay it off down the road and agree with the GOP that it is still lacking in its ability to bring us out of this economic crisis.

A majority of the US electorate voted him into Power.
No good whining about his ineffectiveness now, you should have thought before you voted.

I saw it and thought the same thing. He is acting like a child who is not getting their candy.

Thanks for the subject and saving me from starting a similar thread,

Though I find the president to still be campaigning while viewing many of his recent speeches I also see signs of sincerity and uncertainty. Sure I could be misreading it but rarely does he look like he is actually lying to us completely.

What seems to be missing though is a show of strength to any but the GOP.

He very much seems to believe in a lot of his talk, but if he really is "for real" then he needs to forget about reminding everyone countless times that he received the votes, and was left with the current economic conditions.

What he really needs to do if he not only wants to gain support from outside the normal liberal sources etc and have a more rounded supportive following is to go inward fight the fight that needs to be fought from within his own party.

He can not continue to allow the certain few powerful people of his party to tie him up like some kind of amateur kidnapping and only leave his mouth open to say exactly what they want him to.

Best way to gain bipartisan support as well as the overwhelming support of the American people (the ones who voted for you and not) is to take control of the most verbal and powerful people in your own party, and by that I mean you lead they follow.

The idea of Pelosi or Reid running this country is frightening to many on all sides and even those outside like myself, and to see the president can actually be able to curb those kinds enough to allow him to at least show what he really wants or can do would be a major boost.

My suggestion is to tackle that problem asap, and know it would be the first step in changing the typical partisan ways, but you can not expect it from the opposing party when your very own can not accept your different ideas.

So far it's ALL SIZZLE< AND NO STEAK
