Clinical updating will save money in the long run.
Insurance companies are limited to percent of profit they can make which will save the consumer money.
I don't know why your wife is not on your plan.
My daughter and her husband have 2 different plans so they also have two premiums.
That is the way with many couples now.
Not all companies offer family plans.
The USG has spent over 700m on this signup circus. Why is anyone having to estimate anything about it? You'd think a system costing $700m+ would be a little more concrete, don't ya think?
According to the article I linked to the final count of enrollments ( those who not only signed up but also paid their premium ) should be available by mid April.
Should be....they've been saying that since it opened...."should be available by..." and it's never proven true. ....
The number of people enrolled in the ACA was 4.2 million by the end of Feb.
We will find out in a few weeks if we know the final numbers.
Not all of which were originally uninsured, nor any where close to the 32-42 million supposedly uninsured this was supposed to help.
No one can guarantee that he or she will not need healthcare, and most people without insurance are unable to pay for the care they receive. As a result, they shift those costs to the rest of us, either because the government picks up the tab or because hospitals required to treat the sick regardless of ability to pay pass on the costs to others in higher fees.
The uninsured thereby shift about $43 billion in costs each year to the rest of us, increasing the average premium for insured families by more than $1,000 a year..
You do realize 6 million is roughly 2% of the US population?
What a milestone 2% after 8 months.... Do those numbers seem to you like US citizens are enthusiastic about Obamacare?
My understanding was that something like 40 million people (numbers varied) didn't have medical insurance and the ACA was intended to cover them. That doesn't seem to be happening.
Is my summation correct?
Should be....they've been saying that since it opened...."should be available by..." and it's never proven true. Along with everything else said by the administration about this circus.
How many times must you be lied to before you realize you're being lied to?

I guess many were not aware that
most of us who do have health insurance have been paying for the uninsured even before Obamacare was passed.
Why Obama's Healthcare Law Is Constitutional | The Nation
You do realize (more likely you don't) that ACA is responsible for almost three times that number of people getting coverage, don't you?
That's right! 16.5 million people in just a few months.
No, it's not.
In the first year, initial plans were to enroll 7 million in exchange plans and 9 million in Medicaid and CHIP, and not all of them would be people who had been previously uninsured
Really? Do you have any links to the govt saying that the #'s you are referring to "should be available by" any date?
Or are the lies you're referring to your own?
It was never meant to insure 32+ million uninsured in the first year.
Do you realize that the uninsured expense isn't a federal expense but rather a state expense making this a state issue and not a federal issue? Of course that fact is ignored by supporters of Obamacare. Absolutely amazing how little so many know about the role of the Federal govt, the expenses generated, and the responsibilities of the individual. ..
How could they possibly not know these numbers now? Are they not using computers?
I know that every one of us who has insurance has been paying for the uninsured even before the ACA was passed.
I know that many of my relatives now are able to put their adult children under the age of 26 on their family policies.
I know that good friend who a had a pre existing condition that made her uninsurable now has insurance.
minnie61doesn't 09013cost People's premiums have been going WAY UP for years. Maybe you didn't notice it because companies use to pay for their employees insurance. Now in the last 10 years more and more companies are asking their employees to share the cost of their insurance. Since my husband and his brothers have owned a small business for the last 40 years I know insurance costs were Skyrocketing before President Obama took office. They have been skyrocketing for decades. This has not happened just in the last 10 years. Heath care costs need to be reigned in.[/QUOTE said:Huh ??
Ok, first things first.
ObamaCare is also known as the " AFFORDABLE Care Act ".
One of Obama's mulitple exagerations was that it would lower premiums by 2500.00 for your average Family.
It hasn't and you people know it hasn't.
You being politically motivated to mitigate away these acute and substantial cost increases doesn't help those who have just been forced off their old insurance.
And who are now finding out that they are going to have allot less money for things like Food and Clothes and monthly expenses in general.
You cant claim this law wasn't sold on false pretenses and broken promises.
Instead of " If you like your plan you can keep it " and " the average Family will Save 2500 dollars a year in premiums " what Obama should have done was explained to America that they may need to stop paying for their Canle TV Service and their Cell Phones because this law is going to cause a Premium INCREASE.
Problem is, if he had just told the truth we would have to contend with the effects of ObamaCares implimention.
For a party that claims to represent the little guy, for a party that claims to be sympathetic to the struggles of the average America, this perpetual open denial of this laws effects on Millions of Americans really makes you people seem prerty cold hearted.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the current self destruction thats happening in the Democrat party right now.
Keep it up. Keep insulting the intelligence of Millions of Americans who've just had their insurance cancelled by telling them its whats best for them and their family.
Keep telling them that the annual pay cut of a few thousand dollars they just recieved is just a normal continuation of premium hikes not related to this law.
Keep telling them their new policies ( if they can even afford them ) are better because men now have prenatal coverage.
Its a win for Conservatives and eventually this Country as it defines Nationally the Democrat brand to match its twisted and selfish core principles
Who says they do not know them ? The numbers are constantly increasing.

Do you understand what is happening here? We have a 17.3 trillion dollar debt, a program that will add another 1.8 trillion entitlement program to the mix which adds to the yearly debt service paid for by those of us paying taxes?
I cannot believe what has happened to this country and the entitlement mentality of far too many. Where does personal responsibility rest in your world? Do you realize we pay 250 BILLION a year in debt service? how many could that number insure?

Without getting into all the big government this, big spending that, more entitlements, free condoms, etc... I'd just like one explanation from the libs. With all these things, what are your plans for getting the debt under control?
Noticed you ran from the Whitehouse.gov site and information provided. You simply have no concept as to what the goals were of ACA and how miserably it has failed. Costs don't matter to you as long as someone else is paying those costs, right?

Under EMTALA, a federal law, the fed govt reimburses hospitals for expenses relating to providing emergency care to the uninsured
So yeah, it's pretty amazing how little some people know about this
Particularly the know-it-alls
EMTALA places the greatest responsibility on hospitals and emergency physicians to provide this health care safety net and shoulder the financial burden of providing EMTALA related medical care.
You said that ACA was intended to cover all of the uninsured and that only 6 million were covered under ACA. I proved you wrong on both counts, so now you're trying to pretend we were talking about an old web page on Whitehouse.gov
ACA decreases the deficit
