Obama Wins Iowa!!

Its the oprah factor!!!

It shows that Obama can win over white voters in large numbers, that he's a slick campaigner, and that his message resonates more than people thought.

What a great night to be an Obama/Democrat supporter....

Obama wins Iowa for the Democrats and Huckabee wins for the GOP.....Double win!!!:2party::2party::2party:

I don't know that I would go THAT far.....afterall it is only Iowa......but still INCREDIBLE news for Democrats....especially Obama voters!

Can you imagine if its Obama v. Huckabee in the fall......
Obama would TROUNCE him.

Pardon my ignorance, this is only my second presidential election.

Can someone tell me why I care what a few thousand people in Iowa think?

But it's an inredibly good start, especially since it look like a good 6 or 7 points right now over Clinton and Edwards. With this momentum, not to mention that his victory was largely due to independents, he'll likely win New Hampshire. And if he wins these two, he'll probably nab S.C. with it's large black population. and if he wins these three states, he's got it in the bag. Each election is different, but I believe Iowa is decisive in this one.

It will be fun watching Hillary try to argue that she has experience and is an agent of change. She won't be able to triangulate this one.

Just saw Edwards speak his "victory" speach. Reminded me of a few european ex communists after the wall came down. Only thing he lacked was a beard and a red shirt.

Good point...no Democrat has ever won Iowa and then been elected President (except Clinton as an incumbent) since 1972 when the Iowa caucus became first in the nation.

FYI - Only GW Bush won Iowa and then became President...and look how that turned out!

The big news I think was the turnout and how many independents voted Democratic...which bodes well for November.

Dear god. I just saw his acceptance speech... I almost started clapping myself.

I think the point of primaries is to weed out separate the strong from the weak. I mean if you can convince people in Iowa that you'll make a good president...then people in California/NYC should be a snap.

Obama definitely had the best speech.

Clinton seemed a little distracted.

Huck showed his bald spot too much and kept playing the God card.

Edwards... pretty good, but didn't stir the soul as much as Obama.

Obama gave a great speech! Edwards didn't acknowledge Obama. Hillary is ripping her team a new a-hole.(I wonder if anyone will get fired) She is trying to figure out how to convince people that she is an agent of change. If she is so effective and experienced because of 16 years experience, then why is everything so messed up?

Yeah, it was a great speech.

I wonder how this will pan out. If he wins in NH as well, he might just start to roll.

Anyway, Edwards is still in it, that'll hurt Obama.

She is trying to figure out how to convince people that she is an agent of change.

She is just another RepubliCrat.

In one quarter, the Military Industrial Monster contributed $122,988 to her campaign. Only Chris Dodd received more blood money that quarter ($168,900). She is limp-wristed on getting us out of Iraq. She is limp-wristed on continuing to bait Iran.

I suspect that with her it would be alot of the same old same old.

I have no doubts about that.

You got to figure, Obama overwhelmingly won independents in Iowa. In NH, independents are an even more important factor. Also, Edwards has a much weaker organization in NH. I think I can safely predict that between those advantages and momentum from Iowa, Obama will win NH. And if he wins both states, I think we can call it for him.

You don't/shouldn't.

Exactly.....the problem I have with Hilary....while she is good on social issues, she is really way too Republican on a lot of issues for my tastes. Hilary would keep us in Iraq...so for that reason alone I support Obama.

Well, I start campaigning tomorrow for Obama. I promised myself I'd only get involved in the Obama campaign if he proved himself a good investment by winning Iowa, and he has.

I just joined politics.
