That pretty much sums it up. Faux-rage intended to soften the public's displeasure over his management on this issue. What a stupid ****ing puppet. For 50 days he plays the cool concerned leader...then he gets told people are bothered that he doesnt show passion...so what does he do? NOW he becomes angry passionate caring Obama. If it werent so transparent it would be comical. Because it is...it is just pathetic.
Luckily for him...the kneepad mafia muppets will still blindly follow him...
I think he should get a tattoo to help solidify his tough-guy image. Maybe one of those "cool" ones with barbed wire that goes around the bicep. All he needs to do now is say it in a Tony Soprano voice or flash some gang signs.
That pretty much sums it up. Faux-rage intended to soften the public's displeasure over his management on this issue.
Bemoaning Obama's passivity after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, the director Spike Lee thundered: "He's very calm, cool, collected. But, one time, go off! If there's any one time to go off, this is it, because this is a disaster."
I don't care if people cuss, but I expect more from the president. This administration has flippantly used vulgar language, Obama talks like a high school bully. I expect more dignified behavior and polite speech from the leader of our country. I have no problem with other's cussing, I just think the President shouldn't.
You know what they say about cussing. It's what people do that don't have the intellect or reasoning power to express themselves otherwise.
This is the same president that just addressed a high school graduation class with teleprompters.
Funny I don't remember you chiming in and complaining when Cheney told someone to go **** themselves. Your partisan hackery and hypocrisy is showing.

Obama brings Nixonian twist to oil spill
Examiner Editorial
June 7, 2010
Nothing more fully reveals the essential character of a person or group than a crisis. Thus, the ecological and political catastrophe of the Gulf oil spill has exposed a breathtaking level of incompetence, political opportunism and mendacity at the heart of the Obama administration. Documents obtained by the Center for Public Integrity make clear that the White House was told by the Coast Guard within 24 hours of the April 20 explosion on BP's Deepwater Horizon platform that the equivalent of 8,000 barrels a day could escape into the ocean. Within three days, Obama and his senior aides were warned that the spill could exceed the in environmental damage caused by the Exxon Valdez wreck in 1989.
Despite these warnings, over the next two months Obama attended Democratic fundraisers, played golf, hosted basketball and football teams at the White House and delivered commencement speeches. Two weeks passed before he could be bothered to go to Louisiana. On April 29, Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindahl declared a state of emergency as the oil spill covered 600 square miles and was only 16 miles from the coast. Jindahl begged federal officials for permission to build a massive network of sand berms to contain damage to beaches. Washington responded a month later but permission was only granted to build 2 percent of the berms requested.
Believe the difference here is venue. Obama's remark was on camera in a live television interview. Cheney's incident was a reported personal conversation. Not similar.
Wasn't too professional or presidential, but guess we will see how it works out for him.
... a president who ...acts like he's some kind of personal arbiter of good and bad.
OMG I had no idea presidents were actually human beings who sometimes talk like human beings.
I don't consider Obama's comment remotely worth getting one's panties in a bunch (as we're seeing here), but the partisan hypocrisy is pretty thick...
:spin:
Cheney dropped the f-bomb on the floor of the Senate.
You seem to be of the mind that cursing in generalities is ZOMG!, yet a direct personal cursing out is perfectly acceptable, especially if it's not on video. Very interesting. But regardless of your excuses concerning where Cheney's "Eff you!" was uttered, it still came out of his mouth as a personal attack. Obama's talk of kicking asses cannot be described as a personal attack on an individual in any way.
Aw, you don't really want to go there, do you? Let's talk about "not too professional or presidential..."
YouTube - Bush's One-Fingered Victory Salute
Of course, the above wasn't done in anger or directed at an individual, but I'd be interested to hear your excuses for Bush's "professional/presidential" use of the middle finger while on camera. And, you know, I don't recall any righties having palpitations when Bush issued his own personal curse attacks...
"There's Adam Clymer, major-league asshole from The New York Times."
- George W. Bush, before a speech during a Naperville, Ill., campaign rally
"You ****ing son of a bitch. I saw what you wrote. We’re not going to forget this."
- Bush to then Wall Street Journal Washington bureau chief Al Hunt in a Dallas restaurant in front of other diners, including Hunt’s wife, Judy Woodruff, and 4-year-old son
That wasn't talking like a human being - that was a bad attempt at method acting. But look - we can't blame Obama for this - the guy's way over his head and has no idea what to do or how to do it. He listens to what people say on television like Spike Lee and then a few days later it's acted out in front of the camera's.
Maybe it's just me, but it's embarrassing to have a president that acts like a punk teenager looking for some ass to kick. I've never before seen a president who so consistently publicly chides citizens who don't agree with him, and acts like he's some kind of personal arbiter of good and bad. Jeez- are there any grown-ups running the country anymore?
Huh. Because I use the phrase "kick ass" in some context or other... like every day. Only rarely does it literally indicate a desire for physical violence.

So Bush was praised for being a tough guy, but Obama isn't?
Interesting.
Landing a plane on an aircraft carrier is pretty dadgum impressive.
Working a ranch makes you pretty manly.
Lets let the oil company regulate itself! Or better yet lets allow private companies to establish disaster relief organizations and allow the free market to do its magic. We'll find out just how much your house is worth when the flood waters are coming...
LOL, saying "kick ass" doesn't make you tough. LOL

What does Obama do other than play a ton of golf and go to Kelly Clarkson concerts?
It's funny you fell for that cowboy **** Bush pretended to be.
