Does that mean that the Bush economic policies created the recession?Recession ended in 2009, panel says - Local News - Cleveland, OH - News - msnbc.com
"The longest recession the country has endured since World War II ended in June 2009, according to a group that dates the beginning and end of recessions.
The National Bureau of Economic Research, a panel of academic economists based in Cambridge, Mass., says the recession lasted 18 months. It started in December 2007 and ended in June 2009. Previously the longest postwar downturns were those in 1973-1975 and in 1981-1982. Both of those lasted 16 months."
This is being touted by Obama on his current lets elect democrats tour. So...question...if the recession actually ended in June 2009, doesnt that mean that it was the Bush economic policies that brough about the end to the recession?
Does that mean that the Bush economic policies created the recession?
There's really too much going on during a recession to be able to point a finger at one thing or one factor, or even one person, and claim that this one thing completely created/ended a recession.
Please point to the policies in the Bush administration that led to the recession. Be as specific as possible.

Actually MY point would be that the recession ISNT OVER. They are embellishing statistics to paint a favorable picture prior to the election.
Agreed, but I think even Obama is still pointing out that things aren't doing great and that we haven't turned everything around yet.
It means no president controls the economy.
I got that part of his answers yesterday. I think it would have to take some major league chutzpah to say ANY of the things enacted are working. At the very least, policies are simply sticking straws in the damn...trillion dollar straws that our grandchildren are going to have to pay for.
And the light suddenly emerges from the darkness...
Now if only your revelation could go out in memo format to all politicians...and all pundits...
I have said it often. But politicians have to pretend they control it. otherwise, they couldn't use it.

The alternatives were: nationalization or bank runs.
