Obama rebuffs McCain's call to delay debate

McCain could also be reacting this way out of legitimate panic instead of political postering.

The reason it might be legit is because only 10 or so days ago McCain thought the "Fundamentals are Strong".
So i imagine when he heard the "real Bush speech" that was only for politicians, that it scared the crap out of him.

If he was that out of touch and got sucked into reality that quickly, it would explain why he is panicing and making ridiculous decisions.

McCain did this for pure political manuevering and I wanna know, from McCain, why he can't do both? Maybe he just can't multi-task.

How did I know asking a liberal to do his freaking job would meet so much resistance. ;)

Maybe it would be a benefit to the future president to at least hear what's being said in these meetings.

Um they do have a thing called teleconferencing that they can do without actually being there if hearing it is important to you.

How did I know asking a liberal to do his freaking job would meet so much resistance. ;)

How did we know a conservative would make a big deal out of this when his boy McCain has missed many votes as well and has not "done his job" as you would say it. Feigned outrage at it's best folks.

I am starting a game.

kinda like "punch buggy"

Everytime a poster uses the left wing talking point "FEIGNED OUTRAGE" the first person to post in response. "PUNCH POINTS %username%"

As in this case

PUNCH POINTS The Next Era!

Gets a point.

So the game is now RHH 1 you all 0

Truth hurts doesn't it. The fact is you are only making a big deal out of this because it is Obama. When your boy does it is ok and we never see you post pages on how McCain should make the ones he misses.

That is why it is feigned outrage. So play your kindergarten games all you want, we know the truth.

I see you have yet to refute the fact that you are only making a big deal out of this because it is Obama, but when your boy does it we don't see pages upon pages from you complaining about it. Typical.

Everyone can see through this so called "outrage" of yours.

awsome on a thread about Obama refusing to do his day job you want to turn it into a "what Mccain said" way back thread...

I can see you exercising your point on partisanship.

McCain, like Obama, has been formally or informally campaigning for this race for well over a year now. I haven't once heard you criticizng McCain for refusing to do his job until now.

You so silly.

I actually think the fedgov should not get involved in business.

However, McCain went back to DC to do his job, and now only after getting yelled at Obama if I heard correctly is doing so as well.

But lets take the easy way out and not discuss the topic and instead focus on the "kindergarten" exercise of attacking posters.

That shows real insight my friend.

Everyone can see through this so called "outrage" of yours.

I'll take that!

What point on partisanship?

Please tell me...

McCain, like Obama, has been formally or informally campaigning for this race for well over a year now. I haven't once heard you criticizng McCain for refusing to do his job until now.

Obama refused to go back, he put politics in front of the nation or at least made it appear as if he did..

But lets avoid the topic and talk about the greatness that is the Good Reverend. I can talk about me all day,..

So where are your pages of outrage when McCain misses votes? Just point us to that one. Otherwise /yawn. you have nothing.

Does he ever have "something"? ;)

Why don't you grow up and discuss the topic not some BS strawman ad hom you created to discuss the poster?

It is transparent "kindergarten" tactics.

It looks foolish. :2wave:

What point on partisanship?

Please tell me...

...look this is all irrellevant. i can be as partisan as i want to be. you can defend your position, i can defend mine. if you are to closed minded then i think a natural selection will occur.

this is my position

Obama refused to go back, he put politics in front of the nation or at least made it appear as if he did..

So did McCain. And now all of a sudden because McCain wants to dodge the debate it's Obama who has not been doing his job.

See point 1 above.

I am being as "partisan as I want"... duh. You are the one who wants to make this thread something it is not.

1. A thread on mccain, it is not.

2. A thread on the Good Reverend, it is not

Let me start again. Could you address my 3 points below? thanks

Hey Obama, a couple of things....

1. AS A SENATOR YOU ARE FREAKING RESPONSIBLE NOW!!!!!

2. Presidents are sworn in on JAN 20TH not Nov 4.

3. Way to put country first, jackass....

:doh:roll:

Can you explain what 2 senators, one of whom has very limited knowledge of the economy, McCain, do in such a situation?

Oh and I forgot to mention......

THEY VOTE!

"Breaking news: McCain *summoned* by Sec. Paulson?
Is he needed to shepherd through the GOP's votes?

Video here, and I'm looking for an embed [Got it!], but here's the transcript:

I am told, Maggie, that the way McCain got involved in this in the first place, the Treasury Secretary was briefing Republicans in the House yesterday, the Republican conference, asked how many were ready to support the bailout plan. Only four of them held up their hands. Paulson then called, according to my sources, Senator Lindsey Graham, who is very close to John McCain, and told him: you’ve got to get the people in the McCain campaign, you’ve got to convince John McCain to give these Republicans some political cover. If you don’t do that, this whole bailout plan is going to fail. So that’s how, McCain, apparently, became involved.

He has gotten what he wants, he’s going to have this meeting, kind of a summit today with the president and Barack Obama. I’m told that the leaders of both parties are getting close to having some kind of a bill. The question, though, is whether rank-and-file Republicans, especially, are going to vote for this."

Actually the only ones that are looking foolish are those making a big deal out of this when McCain also misses votes. I would actually have respect for someone that complains about both sides missing votes, but since you don't and only complain about Obama and not McCain missing votes.

So where is your posts about McCain missing votes? Since thre is none it is clear you are just being partisan and upset over this because it is Obama. Your boy does it too, when do you ever complain about him missing?

Your tactics of selective outrage are noted.

This thread is about Obama rebuffing McCain on going back to washington to be there for the vote.

What you are doing is putting forth a red herring fallacy in an exercise to avoid the question.

Again this thread is not about who missed votes or the Good Reverend but about the economy issue and McCain and Obama being there for the vote.

You know do thie jobs?

Your tactics of selective outrage are noted.

I'll take that!

How do you want me to respond to a rant?

1. Why is Obama not doing his job?

2. Who claimed otherwise?

3. Obama is putting the country first by giving access the news media and the people.

you are demonstrating that you did not read the article I linked to or the origional post.

1. Cause he is a senator, senators make legislation.

2. Obama did.

3. How the hell is that putting country first?

Please read my op and try again. thanks.

Some of us think it's important to see what the candidates have to say in other than prepared text.

Please read my op and try again. thanks.

You're welcome.
