Hey Obama, a couple of things....

1. AS A SENATOR YOU ARE FREAKING RESPONSIBLE NOW!!!!!

2. Presidents are sworn in on JAN 20TH not Nov 4.

3. Way to put country first, jackass....

Obama rebuffs McCain's call to delay debate

My Way News - Obama rebuffs McCain's call to delay debate

"This is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who, in approximately 40 days, will be responsible for dealing with this mess," Obama said in Clearwater, Fla. "It's going to be part of the president's job to deal with more than one thing at once."

I agree Rev. The more I think about it, the more I support McCain's decision yesterday. It's not popular, but doing the right thing rarely is.

I am asking you to provide me with what you envision Obama should be doing right now. If he comes back to the Senate, what can HE DO SPECIFICALLY to help the situation?

Hey Rev, seems you haven't been keeping up to dte. McCain and Obama are not on any committee dealing with this. What would you have them do, sit in the hall outside the meeting waiting for it to be over?

The damn election is not going away. THAT is their #1 job! Debates have been held under much more dire clouds than this.

Me thinks you're scared to death McCain will lose badly in this debate and the fat lady will be warming up her voice.

Are you really a reverand? Nice potty mouth.

Can you explain what 2 senators, one of whom has very limited knowledge of the economy, McCain, do in such a situation?

author, co-author a bill maybe? oh wait this is Obama we are talking about.

So what? any senator can introduce legislation. nice excuse though....

And this debate will happen.

Obama only has a chance if he has his teleprompter....

it's spelled "reverend"...... and yes I am, and Obama is still a Jackass.

Can you explain what 2 senators, one of whom has very limited knowledge of the economy, McCain, do in such a situation?

nothing.... they can do absolutley nothing...

why the hell do we have senators anyway....

this is a lame lame response......

nothing.... they can do absolutley nothing...

Glad we agree that McCain putting his campaign on hold is just for show.

why the hell do we have senators anyway....

So you can't explain what somebody who knows little about the economy can bring to a discussion about the economy? Oh well now that explains everything.

this is a lame lame response......

I agree. Can't blame you for the feigned outrage.

Yours is the lame response, Reverend. Come on, you think that ANYONE could author or co-author a bill in a snap? This is a seriously-complicated issue. Neither McCain nor Obama are on the banking committee, and we don't need the entire Senate right now addressing the issue. Neither of them can do anything right now.

Sarcasm, we do thay around here.

loaded talking point question, leading into a nonsensical point.

Lets see senators are elected to do a job. Obama wont go back to his day job, McCain did.

you can spout your mccain economic talking point on every thread. what ever little you claim he could do, admittedly Obama can do less....

I agree. Can't blame you for the feigned outrage.

what outrage? You need a new game, the "feigned outrage" talking points is vanilla ice played.....

i think obama is a buffoon, and shows his lack of leadership each and every day.

We dont?

my god woman.... that is rather silly....

they almost did a bill overnight, remember?

btw, i think they should all do nothing.. but McCain went back to his day job....

Senators are supposed to legislate, and Obama does not do "legislation"

Hey Hound, if McCain changes his mind and actually does participate in the debate, will you lose all respect for him or will you blame Obama for not respecting his choice for skipping out?

Depends on the circumstances ground.....

Freudian sl.....

And I already explained why McCain's move is just for show. Can you explain what he brings to the discussion? What knowledge does he have on the economy that his voice is important in economic debates? Just what exactly does he bring to a discussion with the president that would make him put his campaign on hold? Wouldn't he have better served just going in the day they vote on a bill he knows very little about and have his aids tell him whether or not he should or shouldn't vote on something he knows little about?

you can spout your mccain economic talking point on every thread. what ever little you claim he could do, admittedly Obama can do less....

Really? Where did Obama admit he knew very little about the economy? Here's mine :
YouTube - McCain doesn't know anything about the economy or Iraq

Now show me yours.

what outrage? You need a new game, the "feigned outrage" talking points is vanilla ice played.....

McCain the leader who admitted he knows jack **** about the economy is putting his campaign on hold to deal with the economy. WHAT A LEADER!

i think obama is a buffoon, and shows his lack of leadership each and every day.

Leadership : Engaging a subject you know nothing about just to claim you're a leader.

awsome on a thread about Obama refusing to do his day job you want to turn it into a "what Mccain said" way back thread...

McCain has EVERYTHING to do with the topic. His admission that he knows nothing about the economy but yet wants to head to Washington to speak with the president on the economy is see through.

Maybe it would be a benefit to the future president to at least hear what's being said in these meetings.

I think a future president must at least have an understanding of the economy to have such meetings. Otherwise in one ear, out the other. He would have best been served by having some of his advisers read a copy of the final bill and then advise him on the matter and how he should vote.

I think this is a great point, and a great argument for your man, McCain. ;) Seriously, you have raised a very valid point.

Hatuey, I've only been here a week, and I noticed you bascially have 2 things that you try to work into every post. I can tell that you're a smart guy, so I look forward to you trying to get away from the talking points. I've seen you say "McCain says he doesn't know much about the economy" in just about every post in these threads about the economy. It probably scored you some points the first 3 times you said it. It's kinda losing it's bite when it's in every post. :2wave:

(Not trying to be personal, Mods. I swear!)

So what you're saying is people who don't know anything about a subject should hold complicated discussions on the matter?

........ :doh

(maybe Lieberman can sneak in. He's a little guy. No one would notice. :2razz:)

It doesn't take away from your rationale. Deliberations (how people come up with a solution) are a very important issue. When government agencies seek to pass regulations, they have to provide a rationale for why they are seeking to pass the regulations. So your heart is in the right place.

Thank you Aps. I've appreciated debating with you. You make a newbie feel welcome. :2wave:
