Well, yeah of course he does. Unfortunately, PH IV was part of the plan...so the mission wasn't over yet, technically.
Isn't that exactly what Bush said?
Iran's influence in the new GOI is evident...and terrifying.
Yeah but, they have a whole new ingredient adjusting their "influence." Called the Iranian people.
That's no excuse. We knew in 2003 what we had to do and weren't allowed to do it because no one would stand up to Rumsfeld and Abazaid.
No excuse, reality. No war goes as planned and there are massive mistakes made in every one.
Well then what is the biggest American mistake in modern warfare (defined as post Vietnam)?
The policy of mutually assured destruction. In my day, I actually rehearsed for nuclear war...in school. We'd have to crawl under our desks and put our heads between our knees. We had drills and sirens and the whole lot. It was made absolutely clear to the Soviet Union that any 9-11 size attack on our citizenry or military or allies would result in their annihalation. And we were serious. And I think the same should apply to the Middle East. You attack us and we think you know where there terrorists live and breathe...and the next 9-11 style attack will see the cities of Tehran and Damascus bombed into rubble. We don't care who is responsible. we don't care if you're standing there with a finger in your arse, we get hit again.....and we're gonna torch some serious real estate. After 9-11, I really wanted Bush to torch off a battlefield nuke high in the mountains in Afghanistan...just to show the world he'd do it in a second. And then remind those that facilitate terror...that the next would be a battlefield nuke detonated over one of their major cities and then see who wants to play. We lost our resolve to fight, THAT is America's worst mistake in modern times.
