Man, this thread is hot with hyperpartisan arguments. Why don't we just replace all that has been written with 2 pictures:
There ya' go. The arguments in this thread have now been boiled down to their lowest common denominators.
Barb - thanks for the link on Fourth Turning. Beck really blew it in the video with his complete misinterpretation of the Tytler Cycle however. Like most things he uses, he cherry picks stuff and then totally turns it into a Frankenstein monster of the real deal. But what else is new?
And as for the links about taking away the vote, I provided a raft of them earlier.
I apologize. Shortly after I wrote that, they were talking about it on MSNBC. I honestly never heard anyone suggesting that except for on this board. It still will never happen, so don't lose any sleep. Ok?

Apologize??/ No way. thanks for trying. I appreciate it. :2wave:
if those numbers are accurate - why should they then not pay 90% of the income tax?
Why?? so that the government blow THE TAXPAYERS money stupidly?
Fixed that...other than that I agree with you completely!

Here's a question for all the liberals on this board. Has a poor person ever offered any of you a job? Why then does Obama want to kill off the job creators in this country by taxing them to death? He looked like a whipped puppy on TV announcing the bipartisan agreement that was reached with Republicans on the tax cuts and unemployment extentions. He should have been celebrating. I think he's feelling the pressure from the far left wing loons in his party. "Millionaires-and-billionaires" are the job creators, not the government. I love how liberals have turned those words into just one word. :lamo
Has a rich person ever been successful without good employees? Truely? In the military they preached that an army is only as good as the lowely private. You know, the weakest link will likely break first, so a chain is only as strong as the weakest link in it.
We can do the foolish generalization thingie, but tax cuts don't make the rich offer jobs, we have studies showing that which have been posted. So, there is no need to pander to them. If they need workers, they'll hire them.
What strikes me as funny is that this is the first time Obama has reached across the aisle and put together a bill with Rs and Ds, then he rips both the Rs and Ds in his press conference.
your hatred of the rich is amusing. Tell us basher of the successful, what tax rate on the rich is TOO High in your mind?
Now this should turn the stomach of any real patriotic American. The republican Party today has blocked a bill to give assistance to first responders in the 911 attacks. They will go to the mat for their tax breaks for the rich and wealthy but raise their middle finger to the men and women who responded and now have health problems from 911.
Republicans Block Passage of 9/11 Responder Aid Bill | Public Intelligence
This would make Abraham Lincoln renounce the party he helped put on the map.

No where do I say I hate the rich. Why do you hate the working person? I am merely pointing out the same silliness this person opens the thread with can be tured the other way.
And while I have no number in mind, as the rate has been much, much higher in the past than it is today, I shed no tears for anyone if we go back to the rate that was under Clinton. The poor, poor rich will still be doing well. It's not a hard concept to follow. :coffeepap
Democrats lumped this bill with another one, otherwise... this would of have passed by itself. Don't blame the Reps. but Dems. just want Reps. to look bad and they are just playing politics.
Congratulations democrats!
WHAT UTTER CRAP. There was no other bill lumped in with this. That is what the Dems were attempting to prevent. At what point do you begin to see the evil of the GOP or can they do no wrong in your eyes?
Everybody can work and be doing well, all they have to do is apply for all those "shovel ready" jobs that Obama talked about and said that exist.
Which has nothing to do with what I said. We can talk ****, or you can address the point. I guess the ball is in your court so to speak. :coffeepap

I am addressing the point but you don't want to participate. I quoted Obama on shovel ready jobs after passing the massive bail outs. So now everybody can be back to work. Those were Obama's words not mine and now you don't like it. Not my problem.
We are paying for a government that is broken. That's the botom line and learn to accept it.
