Excuse me if this is the improper forum to post this thread, as I am new here and where I came from was much smaller. I'm still finding my way around this place's many avenues.

WASHINGTON, Jan 5 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama told his security chiefs on Tuesday that the botched Christmas Day plane bombing was the result of a screw up by U.S. intelligence and that the country had barely dodged disaster, according to a quotation released by the White House.

"This was a screw up that could have been disastrous," the president said during a meeting in the White House situation room, according to the White House media office. "We dodged a bullet but just barely. It was averted by brave individuals not because the system worked and that is not acceptable. While there will be a tendency for finger pointing, I will not tolerate it."

While this doesn't help our situation in any substantive way it is good to see the Community Agitator come out and actually admit that his team screwed up which nearly lead to hundreds of deaths.

I couldn't handle anymore Janet Napolitano lunacy of saying the system worked. How long before you think she slinks away and resigns?

Now, if we could only get Obama to acknowledge the radical Islamist was more than a mere "suspect" who "allegedly" perpetrated an ordinary 'ol crime and quit giving lawyers to enemy combatants.

I am really surprised he didn't blame Bush again. He must be paying attention to his focus groups or teleprompter on this one.

Perhaps he's starting to learn that blaming Bush only gets you so far.
 
I think the real reason why Obama is becoming frustrated with terrorism is because not even his "Brain Trust," can work in wealth redistribution. It's much better when wealth distribution is the main course of the speech, and protecting Americans a nice (small) side dish.
 
It was another speech. If he acts on it, I can give him credit. To not tolerate I would take to mean Janet becomes the Janitor, Yemen is confronted about the obvious terrorist cancer growing there, and he acts on rather than admits this wasn't an "islolated incident."

Unlike Bush, who never admitted that his administration screwed up on anything which actually has led to thousands of deaths during his term?
 
So where did Obama admit that his administration screwed up? He blamed "US intelligence", not his administration.

And yet Obama is trying al-Qaeda in civilian courts and giving them Miranda rights.

On one hand he says we are at war, while on the other he is treating it like domestic crime.

Obama's policies are illogical and incoherent.

This man has no clue what the hell he is doing and we are less safe for it.
