NYPD detective whacked in head with stick in brazen broad-daylight attack

I would bet mental illness on the part of the "attacker". That strike, while probably stung quite a bit, was not some crazy attack that would have resulted in serious injury to the cop.
Agreed. And it may be notable that he attacked a non-uniformed detective when most of the issues with cops and minorities that make the papers are with uniformed patrol cops.

No biggie. The guy is probably back home by now and there is little chance that any charges will be pursued.

Bottom line is that the guy wouldn't have hit anyone if the cop wasn't there. It's just one more incident that PROVES how badly we need to get rid of police. The only reason the cop was even there was to antagonize and intimidate people of color. The whacker, who should be hailed as a hero, was merely standing up for his personhood.

The guy really need to be interviewed by Don Lemon and de Blasio needs to hand him a good $6-9 million. The cops just needs to be fired and probably should be charged with intimidation and harassment.
NY city anti-police activists, elected leftists and Democrats running for mayor targeted police department budgets insisting the city would be much safer by redirecting NYPD funding into investments in education, mental health services, housing and food support. Clearly their "ideas" are working.

Now what in Sam's name was assaulting a cop supposed to prove? Have the elected emboldened some to take the low road? That seems to be the opinion of DEA president, Paul DiGiacomo.
“Once again, New Yorkers witness just how emboldened violent criminals are,” DEA president Paul DiGiacomo said in a statement “If there’s anyone wondering why this happened, they can ask their elected officials who have created a city of no consequence for criminality.”

Two wrongs don't make a right. Whoever attacked that cop should be brought to justice.

lol, of course the president of the Detectives’ Endowment Association would try to blame it on police reforms. What a sack of turds. And what a damned idiot. What's the idea even supposed to be? The attacker read that politicians are talking about reforming the police, so he concluded he could smack a cop with a stick on a busy street and get away with it?

:ROFLMAO:

And that is where you fail.

You fail to recognize that it is entirely logical to condemn a violent attack against a police officer while at the same time demanding a reallocation of funds onto services that would prevent crime in the first place.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, but they're not entitled to their own skewed set of facts.
Get better facts. :)

No. I don't know any of them. Sorry that your story has no happy ending.
Your personal relationship (or lack thereof) with those nutters doesn't prevent their existence. It was the right that led an attack on Congress and the foundation of American Democracy and in so doing assaulted police amongst other crimes.

It's not a happy ending, but it is reality.

I take it you are reading from a mainstream media 'news' article?

By anti-police you mean those wanting cops to held accountable for their bad behavior......
Things never change overnight, in fact they may get worse before they get better. but investing in Mental health, housing and food support rather then militarizing the police will payoff in the end. of course long term solutions never are popular with cons.

Elected officials constantly victimizing certain groups tends to make them feel like those who are entitled to lash out at their imaginary enemies.

Rikers Island is chock full of inmates.

What wrong was the police detective who was taking notes on a robbery doing?

If you'll read my posts for context, you will understand that the detective's note-taking was not a target of my criticism.

And no, I'm not going to clarify that any more for you. You're an adult. Figure it out. :)

Check this out, everyone. Trix is trying to give a lecture about honest debate.

You claimed above that I may know some. I told you that I don't know any.
Complete the story any way you'd like... It has little to do with the subject of this thread.
I'm not sure where you got the idea I would be for the assault on our nation's police, but your whataboutism is telling to me.

Now right here is the underlying purpose of this thread.

Your need to attack Liberals via some nutter who attacks a cop.

Pretty weak sauce.

If you can point out where rightwing activists, right wing NY mayoral candidates, and right wing NY elected are launching daily attacks on our nation's police, I'll retract.

I claimed I didn't know, it's inconsequential.
But the right is all for assaulting cops if it can be done for their cause of sedition. The faux outrage over this attack is nothing more than partisan hackery in it's nominal form.

We have a good example of the Right attacking the very institution of our government and assaulting dozens of cops in the process. Look up Jan 6, if you never heard of it. You maybe didn't.

Somehow all cons never seem to know or listen to anyone who do this things, yet somehow also seem to parrot them word for word.

The left who dominates government in NY city has turned their backs on their police, and that action in turn emboldens some to believe they are entitled to clobber cops on the head in broad daylight....

5,300 New York City police officers retired or quit the NYPD last year. That’s up 75% from the previous year. SEVENTY FIVE PERCENT. In their story, the New York Post poses the question “Are NYPD officers rushing to retire amid city’s anti-cop climate?”

Is that a real question? OF COURSE. People are trying to TRAP cops and take them out.

What did people expect? There’s a mass exodus.

“Cops are forming a conga line down at the pension section, and I don’t blame them,” said Joseph Giacalone, a retired NYPD sergeant and an adjunct professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
“NYPD cops are looking for better jobs with other departments or even embarking on new careers,” he added.

Somehow all cons never seem to know or listen to anyone who do this things, yet somehow also seem to parrot them word for word.

Want to paint my house with that broad brush? You'd get the job done in no time at all...

Reading is totally overrated. It's much more convenient these days to make up your own story and see how it stands up alongside the MSM narrative.
Good explanation of your post then.
