A man struck an NYPD detective over the head with a plastic stick on Monday — in a broad-daylight attack that took place as the officer was investigating another crime, according to police.

The cop was processing the scene of a robbery in Queens around 11:50 a.m. when he was assaulted, the NYPD said.

Footage shared by the Detectives’ Endowment Association showed the cop standing outside the crime scene and taking notes near some broken glass — when a man holding two long white sticks creeps up behind him.

The perp then whacks the officer, who crouches down while holding his head in pain.

“What happened?” someone asks, as the attacker saunters away and crosses the street.

Another cop and a man who appears to be a bystander can then be seen taking off after him.

Akeele Morgan, 25, of the Bronx, was arrested not far from the scene on 39th Avenue, near Prince Street in Flushing, police said.

Now what in Sam's name was assaulting a cop supposed to prove? Have the elected emboldened some to take the low road? That seems to be the opinion of DEA president, Paul DiGiacomo.
“Once again, New Yorkers witness just how emboldened violent criminals are,” DEA president Paul DiGiacomo said in a statement “If there’s anyone wondering why this happened, they can ask their elected officials who have created a city of no consequence for criminality.”

just a hunch, but when someone is continuously told that certain people are hunting them and trying to end their life, they tend to get angry at those people.

Shouldn't we wait to see the charges against him and the presuming guilty verdict result in some sort of jail time before saying "elected officials who have created a city of no consequence for criminality?"

This one seems like a slam dunk of a case.

Read the article. The charges have already been made.
What didn't you understand about his statement?

Elected officials constantly victimizing certain groups tends to make them feel like those who are entitled to lash out at their imaginary enemies.

There is no excuse for an unprovoked attack against anybody. I hope the perp goes to jail for a long, long time.
Not likely. More likely only to be released to re-commit by the leftist DA, I'd think.
Such is the liberal / progressive utopia which NYC has become.
No wonder everyone is fleeing NYC.

You left out the context. Go back and read his entire statement. It should come to you.
WTF??

you mean this one??

Apologies, read the article a little too quickly.

Let's see what happens with the case then. Again, seems like a slam dunk of a case to me.

See post #10

No need for me to repeat it for those who refuse to follow a thread.

Ok.
As it should be but that's not the real point of the thread or the words in my post to you above.

They're freeing CA. too. The feeling our irresponsible elected and white wing leftists are giving blacks with their war on cops is that it has emboldened some to criminally act out. Hell, some have even turned against black cops by calling them vile names.

Videos on TV and the internet show a trend of white left-wing activists shouting at black law enforcement officers. They call them “traitors,” “sellouts,” and “Uncle Tom.” “You should know better,” said a white activist in the face of a black cop last week.

The wheels are coming off of society, 'white wing leftists' aren't just fiddling while it burns, they are throwing ever more gas on the fire, and have been for an entire year already.

The thing is the perp was caught and will face full justice of the law unlike what some are suggesting here.

It's also not indictive of some war on cops but a random violent attack that unfortunately happens in such a violent society.

No biggie. The guy is probably back home by now and there is little chance that any charges will be pursued.

Bottom line is that the guy wouldn't have hit anyone if the cop wasn't there. It's just one more incident that PROVES how badly we need to get rid of police. The only reason the cop was even there was to antagonize and intimidate people of color. The whacker, who should be hailed as a hero, was merely standing up for his personhood.

The guy really need to be interviewed by Don Lemon and de Blasio needs to hand him a good $6-9 million. The cops just needs to be fired and probably should be charged with intimidation and harassment.

I would bet mental illness on the part of the "attacker". That strike, while probably stung quite a bit, was not some crazy attack that would have resulted in serious injury to the cop.
