That YHWY exists as a single essence in three persons has been well established since Old Testament times but is rejected in recent times by heretical sects such as Oneness Pentecostal and Jehovah Witness’s (JWs).

And, yet, God always leaves a remnant. Even though the JWs Bible, the New World Translation, is rejected by every serious scholar and theologian we can still find evidence that clearly shows that within the pages of the New World Translation (NWT).

But to begin, we will establish that the Holy Spirit is God as I have already demonstrated that He is a person and the Jesus is also God in my previous threads found here and here (all proved beyond a shadow of a doubt using only the New World Translation which denies the very things).

Unless otherwise noted, all Scriptures have been taken from the New World Translation.

Also, it is worth noting that in a vain effort to steal the Holy Spirit of His personhood and deity, all references to the Holy Spirit in the NWT will not capitalized.

1 Corinthians 9: 14
For it is to us God has revealed them through his spirit, for the spirit searches into all things, even the deep things of God.

John 14:26
But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you

John 16: 13
However, when that one comes, the spirit of the truth, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak of his own initiative, but what he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things to come.

The Holy Spirit is omniscient.

Luke 1: 35
In answer the angel said to her: “Holy spirit will come upon you, and power of the Most High will overshadow you. And for that reason the one who is born will be called holy, God’s Son.

The Holy Spirit is omnipotent

Psalm 139: 7-1
Where can I escape from your spirit, And where can I run away from your face? If I were to ascend to heaven, you would be there, And if I were to make my bed in the Grave, look! you would be there. If I would fly away with the wings of the dawn To reside by the most remote sea, Even there your hand would lead me And your right hand would take hold of me.

The Holy Spirit is omnipresent

Job 33: 4
God’s own spirit made me, And the Almighty’s own breath brought me to life.

Psalm 104: 30
If you send out your spirit, they are created, And you renew the surface of the ground.

The Holy Spirit is credited with Creation.

John 3: 5
Jesus answered: “Most truly I say to you, unless anyone is born from water and spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.

The Holy Spirit regenerates.

2 Peter 1: 21
For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit.

Acts 1: 16
“Men, brothers, it was necessary for the scripture to be fulfilled that the holy spirit spoke prophetically through David about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus. [emphasis mine]

Acts 28: 25
So because they disagreed with one another, they began to leave, and Paul made this one comment: “The holy spirit aptly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your forefathers, [emphasis mine]

The Holy Spirit is the inspiration for Scripture

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is inspired of God
and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness [emphasis mine]

Remembering that the NWT expressly states that it is the Holy Spirit that inspires Scripture (see Acts 1:16 & Acts 28: 25 above), here in 2 Timothy 3:16 it clearly states that “All Scripture is inspired of God “.

The NWT is clearly calling the Holy Spirit God. There is simply no doubt here.

Part II of II

Romans 8:11
If, now, the spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also make your mortal bodies aliveq through his spirit that resides in you.

Acts of deity are ascribed to Him. The Holy Spirit raises the dead.

Acts 28: 25-27
So because they disagreed with one another, they began to leave, and Paul made this one comment: “The holy spirit aptly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your forefathers, saying, ‘Go to this people and say: “You will indeed hear but by no means understand, and you will indeed look but by no means see. For the heart of this people has grown unreceptive, and with their ears they have heard without response, and they have shut their eyes, so that they might never see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn back and I heal them.”

The words and works of God are credited to the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 3: 7-11
Therefore, just as the holy spirit says, “Today if you listen to his voice, do not harden your hearts as on the occasion of provoking to bitter anger, as in the day of testing in the wilderness, where your forefathers put me to the test and tried me, despite seeing my works for 40 years. This is why I became disgusted with this generation and said: ‘They always go astray in their hearts, and they have not come to know my ways.’ So I swore in my anger: ‘They will not enter into my rest.’

The words and works of God are credited to the Holy Spirit.

Job 33: 4
God’s own spirit made me, And the Almighty’s own breath brought me to life

The Holy Spirit is credited with Creation.

Acts 5: 3-4
But Peter said: “An·a·niʹas, why has Satan emboldened you to lie to the holy spirit and secretly hold back some of the price of the field? As long as it remained with you, did it not remain yours? And after it was sold, was it not in your control? Why have you thought up such a deed as this in your heart? You have lied, not to men, but to God.”

The NWT specifically calls the Holy Spirit God.

2 Corinthians 3: 17
Now Jehovah is the Spirit,d and where the spirit of Jehovah is, there is freedom.

The NWT specifically calls the Holy Spirit God.

NOTE: Possibly the only reference to the Holy Spirit in the NWT where they neglected to use a lower-case “s”. Within the on-line NWT on JW.org (which is what I’m using), there is a “d” (see above. I left the link) that leads to an on-line note that reads, “God is a Spirit, and those worshipping him must worship with spirit and truth.” [emphasis mine].

But even the casual reader will note that the NWT specifically reads, “Jehovah is the Spirit” [emphasis mine].

That the Holy Spirit is God is firmly and unwaveringly established by the New World Translation. The evidence is overwhelming.

I believe that it's far more complex and yet simplistic at the same time; yet beyond our comprehension.

The best description we can understand is Father, Son, Holy Spirit, is One.

In terms of God's level of intelligence, we're retarded. at present.

Can you inform us how long after Jesus' death the cited "new testament" quotes were inscribed for the first time? Can you say with any kind of proof that that these dude ever wrote anything.

Typical of a defender of the faith you simply assume your "word of god" is the ultimate and definitive word on god? But, the basis of the "new testament" is the "old testament", which is filled with inconsistencies, half truths and some old fashioned yarn spinning.
Fact: There is no archeological evidence "Israelites" ever existed in great numbers in Egypt.

And, you likely don't know that the Vatican has sealed away 1,000's of writings & texts from that era, but will never release them to the world.

Ask yourself why?

True. The pyramids were not built by slave labor.

If you wish to start a thread on--I don't care--then you should do so.

This is not the thread to discuss your issues.

Surely the Vatican would have destroyed any/all most damaging documents long ago.

Are the three persons equal or is there a hierarchy?
They are equal with each being omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient. There does appear to be roles within the Trinity where the Son submits to the Father, the Father glorifies the Son and the Holy Spirit "precedes" from the Father & Son. They are three persons of one essence and equal in all respects.

What does God's Word say?

"Fools and blind ones! Which, in fact, is greater, the gold or the temple that has sanctified the gold?" Matthew 23:17

“Most truly I say to you, the Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing." John 5:19

"I have not come of my own initiative, but that One sent me." John 8:42

"I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I am." John 14"28

"But I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn, the head of a woman is the man; in turn, the head of the Christ is God." 1 Corinthians 11:3

"Next, the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power." 1 Corinthians 15:24

Why don't you address the verses I provided in the OP. You can't call it "apostate literature". It comes from your own Bible and proves that the Holy Spirit is God.

Period.

So they have equal powers but not equal authority. That presents a problem for the idea of this being just "one" god. Wouldn't it be better to claim that Jesus and the HS are parts of the same body, each performing a function of the whole? Obviously, Yahweh is the head of the body in this case. Now, just "one" god.

No.

No? Makes more sense than three separate "persons" equals "one" god. Now you have a group, not a singularity. I guess you could say your god is a group or conglomerate.

Exactly...just as Paul said...we are not literally one...we are still individual members, just as Jehovah and Christ are separate individuals...we are all one in unity of mind/thought...

"For just as the body is one but has many members, and all the members of that body, although many, are one body, so too is the Christ. For by one spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink one spirit...Now you are Christ’s body, and each of you individually is a member." 1 Corinthians 12:12,13,27

And, yet, the Bible is clear that God is one:

Deuteronomy 6:4
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.

That you are having trouble making sense of the fact that three persons can consist of one essence is to be expected. There is nothing to compare God to. He is unlike anything else. But the Bible is clear that there is one God comprised of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Um...that's the Hebrew god, not the later adopted Greek and Roman one.

Ah. You're one of those that believe the Old Testament God and the New Testament God are two different Gods.

Gothcha.

Have a nice day.

Based on what? What do you think they destroyed?
Can't really say what they destroyed.
But I'm still waiting on the proof of the claim made in your threads topic.
