The truth will eventually come out no matter how much Republicans want to cover it up. And, when it does the public may discover that Senate Republicans were co-conspirators in a conspiracy to cover-up Trump's corruption. That likely will not produce a good long-term result for them.

Democrats keep declaring Trump guilty of a crime no court nor legal proceeding has yet proven. Democrats show very poor judgment by insisting Trump is guilty just because they say he is, especially when they prove they are still looking for some evidence somewhere to support their unjust declaration.

They were able to prove the case to Lamar Alexander.

Democrats show very poor judgment by insisting Trump is guilty just because they say he is, especially when they prove they are still looking for some evidence somewhere to support their unjust declaration.

It's fair to say the Democrats have not proven their case. I don't agree, and I think it depends on what aspect of the case you're examining, and the burden of proof you're looking for, but it's a fair statement on your part.

It's not fair to say that the Senate trial should not include witnesses because the Democrats have not proven their case. It was within the power of the Senate to push the Trump administration into helping uncover the truth by producing the witnesses the Trump administration has been blocking. And guess what? 75% of the American people agreed.

House democrats gave up trying to prove their case against Trump. They had their reasons for refusing to call witnesses they way they were supposed to in the House with the intention of having the Senate do their heavy lifting for them instead.

The Constitution is the supreme law of our nation. What is the criminal charge for not following the Constitution? There is none. IMO, a violation of the Constitution is a high crime or misdemeanor. I'm not sure what the R's consider a violation of the Constitution...politics?

How does exerting his right to claim executive privilege supposedly prove Trump is in violation of the Constitution?

It must be a reason for the Chief Justice of the supreme Court to be there Presiding over the Senate and their Trial; with the full judicial Power of the United States.

I think it's clear at this point that Republicans and Trump supporters care about the Constitution only insofar as it helps them achieve their political goals.

Sorry, the CJ of the SCOTUS is not exercising any of the judicial power of the Article 3 branch, he is subject to Senate rules.
