Republicans have been pitting the rich against the poor for decades now by giving one huge tax cut after another to the wealthy elite while tossing a few bones to everyone else to keep them quiet. Hush puppies for the less economically well off. There is no one better at class warfare than the Repubs, and it has paid off handsomely for both themselves and the wealthy that they serve.

You can't just move to another country to avoid U.S. taxes: you have to give up citizenship (but not before getting citizenship in another country), you have to pay taxes on the unrealized gains on ALL of your assets, regardless of where they held, you obviously can't move real estate (which can be subject to estate taxes if your heirs are U.S. citizens, you may be leaving family and friends behind, it is irrevocable, etc. It is probably much easier if you are already a long-term ex-pat AND you're not wealthy.
