The indeterminate penalty, called "containment" (Norwegian: forvaring), is set at 21 years imprisonment, and the prisoner is required to serve at least 10 years before becoming eligible for parole. If the prisoner is still considered dangerous after serving the original sentence, the prisoner can receive up to five years additional containment. If the additional time is served, and the offender is still considered dangerous, a prisoner can continue to receive up to five years additional containment, and this, in theory, could result in actual life imprisonment. "Containment" is used when the prisoner is deemed a danger to society and there is a great chance of committing violent crimes in the future.[2] However, the offender can be paroled or released at any time if it is determined that the offender is no longer a danger to society.
Hopefully someone in jail will make sure he never see's freedom again.

U didn't read the details. They're putting him in what Norway calls preventive detention, which means his sentence can be extended repeatedly.

That is little more than wishful thinking based on your own prejudices. Even here in America, Charles Manson still gets parole hearings upon which he could theoretically be released.
California's parole board yesterday denied parole for Susan Atkins. Atkins has served more than 40 years in prison for her role in the Sharon Tate/LaBianca murders. She has served more time than any other female inmate in California history. She is dying of cancer, paralyzed and several years ago had a leg amputated. She's no threat to society. Susan Atkins was sentenced to life with parole -- not life without parole. They are not the same thing. [More...]

Is that all? Dayum, you can get that for strong-arm robbery around here....
Those Europeans are so civilized they actually don't believe in long jail terms. Ten years is about par for murder. Since this guy murdered 77, it's just possible he may do a little bit longer.
why Europeans? This was in Norway has has nothing to do with he rest of Europe.

Tell us about the long prison sentences handed down to murderers in Britain.
Yeah, the trial was fair. Only somebody on the Far Left would find the sentence appropriate, however.

From way over here, we figure Norway is in Europe.
