Nonfarm payroll growth revised down by 818,000, Labor Department says

even after the data, you don't know.

for a guy that makes a living off of analyzing data....

I think a lot of crime is under-reported for reasons I already stated. I mean, it may be the case that the overall level of violent crime is down, but businesses are still closing up shop and leaving, including American Eagle Outfitters, Ted Baker, The North Face, and the aforementioned Denny’s. They wouldn’t be doing that if there still weren’t a problem. That’s in addition to all the retailers that left or announced they were leaving last year. San Francisco also recently lost two major corporate headquarters, Chevron and X, to Texas.

San Francisco can no longer take private businesses for granted, because it could send it on its way to becoming just another failed American city run by Democrats. It may already be past the point of no return.🤷‍♂️

Of course, the Fed will never tell you this publicly, but the idea is to dampen economic activity by increasing slack in the labor market.
Everyone who has a little macro knowledge knows the Fed uses interest rates to slow the economy. "Slackening" employment might be a "goal" if inflation is wage caused, but since the dual mandate calls for controlling inflation and max employment, and since this inflation is not wage driven, your analysis is faulty.
One of the best indicators of a coming recession is a fed rate cut, especially one following an inverted yield curve. This tightening cycle was one of the steepest in history, taking the fed funds rate from nothing to 5.5%
The yield curve has been inverted for quite a while, it has not been following usual trends, so again yer not using a good indicator for a prediction.

Sorry, but I’m not taking at face value stats coming out of a city with an overworked, understaffed department down by hundreds of officers with chronically-slow response times. I’ve seen enough anecdotal accounts to call into question the official narrative that everything is fine in San Francisco. It’s not. Use your common sense. If you’re from out of town and the victim of a low-priority crime, are you going wait around for days hoping a cop finally shows up to take a report? Probably not.
