No pride flags but Confederate and Nazi may be okay.

This discussion continues to amaze me, tarring today’s democrats for their support of segregation defies history, sort of like tarring today’s republicans for nominating Nixon three times. (Of course GOPer Roger Stone apparently still has that Nixon tattoo on his back.). Reminds me of a friend of mine who, when notified of a past due credit card bill he had forgotten about, said he would pay the principal but not the interest cause he didn’t “believe in time.”
 
Schools should fly the American flag, the State flag and not much else.

politics have no place in the classroom.

Lost Cause lies, in fact, do not have anything to do with “history”.
 



Salt Lake City and Boise make pride flags official city emblems, skirting flag ban laws

The Democratic controlled cities of Salt Lake City and Boise, Idaho, adopted new city flags this week that show support for LGBTQ+ people in defiance of new laws passed by their states’ Republican-controlled Legislatures.

The Democratic controlled cities of Salt Lake City and Boise adopted new city flags this week showing support for LGBTQ+ people in defiance of their states’ Republican-controlled Legislatures, which have banned traditional rainbow pride flags at schools and government buildings.

Utah’s capital of Salt Lake City created new flag designs while Boise, the capital of Idaho, made the traditional pride flag one of its official city flags. The move in Utah came hours before a ban on unsanctioned flag displays took effect Wednesday....

Idaho’s flag ban took effect April 3, barring government buildings from displaying any flags except those on a short list including the U.S. flag, flags of military branches and official flags of government entities. A separate ban containing some exemptions for school buildings takes effect July 1....

More than a dozen other states are considering similar measures....
