I had to read the article a few times because I thought it was an early April fool's stunt or bad joke and my brain really couldn't grasp the concept, but apparently is it real

"After a recent change by the Trump administration, the federal government no longer explicitly prohibits contractors from having segregated restaurants, waiting rooms and drinking fountains."

The segregation clause is one of several identified in a public memo issued by the General Services Administration last month, affecting all civil federal agencies. The memo explains that it is making changes prompted by President Trump's executive order on diversity, equity, and inclusion, which repealed an executive order signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965 regarding federal contractors and nondiscrimination. The memo also addresses Trump's executive order on gender identity.

Some on this forum said why it is that NO DEI seems to target blacks, and also means no Black, the answer was no it doesn’t. Now it literally means NO DEI mean NO blacks!

1964! We are back!

One good thing about this Admin is that they are not racist!

It's pretty sickening. This is the sort of stuff that only appeals to the MAGA base. That's roughly 35% of the masses. This will cause backlash along with everything else.

Good news for employers who were just waiting to have segregated bathrooms.

Segregated Restaurants, wtf?
Segregated Drinking Fountains, wtf?

AND we ALL know that soon the Righties will arrive and say "relax" there won't be any segregation because all Trump did was to remove the prohibition on any contractors who might want to engage in any of the above, and no contractor would."

Ummmmmmmmmm, wanna bet?

The cool part of this is how we'll get to watch @eman623 and @TobyOne on their journey as they gradually transition from laughing at people worried about segregated bathrooms to their end state where they are actively championing and defending them. This could be an excellent opportunity to study a set of MAGA undergoing this transformation in real time and answer some important questions: are there some specific and well defined stages to this process? How quickly will the transformation occur, and are there techniques to accelerate or decelerate it? What metrics best describe their evolving enthusiasm for segregation over time and how do we best measure them?

The opportunity is endless.

Lol. 🤡🤡🤡🤡

I take offense to you saying our MAGA administration is not racist.

Many of us were racist before it was cool, and we're proud of it.

MAGA.

Good news for employers who were just waiting to have segregated bathrooms.
They won't need them. The fascist scumbag magidiots won't hire them no matter how competent.

This will cause an explosion in segregated bathrooms. Any minute now...,

I get that all you two ever post are the dumbest ****ing trolling turdlets, but really, why would the Trump admin drop that language?

This is part of the reason why I now just try to make everything worse for everyone.

Its funny...we always wonder what the next ludicrous thing that the leftists are going to be poutraged over and if their stupid attempts at inciting racial hatred can possibly top the last one...and for some reason we are surprised when they manage it.

I'd just like to take a moment to sneer at everyone who is okay with this.

Perhaps you can explain to me a non-sinister reason for Trump to have done this?

From the article itself:
To be clear, all businesses — those that have government contracts and those that do not — still need to follow federal and state laws, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which makes segregated facilities illegal.

So as the article notes, this is a symbolic move (Which I happen to disagree with), and not a legal one.

I despise Trump and the right, but I don't see how this is a big deal. There are still laws that make segregated facilities illegal and frankly I think its unlikely in this day and age that people would go back to having segregated bathrooms after all this time

It was unimaginable that we would have an administration as ignorant and knuckle dragging Neanderthal as this one in a modern developed country like the US. And yet here we are. This sort of incredulity that we can’t possibly be that backward is how we got here.

Obama 2008: yes we can.
MAGA 2016: hold my beer.

This is not news. It was expected when the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs was abolished in January.

See above.

Those posters are right because Blacks were favored under DEI.

Discrimination in favor of a minority is still discrimination.

One good thing about this Admin is that they are not racist!
One thing you have right.

The Biden administration was very racist.

 Diving Mullah
Sarcasm doesn't work with the truth

Segregated bathrooms are covered, as in illegal, by the civil rights act. The EO that Trump negated wasn't focused on segregated bathrooms. Its just more performative outrage by liberals and yet another reason why NPR should be defunded.

I think the majority of those on the right support what Trump is selling.... but I don't believe enough of them are racist to the point of bringing back segregated rest rooms... or at least not segregated on the basis of race.

Trump is liberal compared to his supporters.

Even so, I don't think segregation is a serious or popular sentiment amongst them. Their actual position is that they'd prefer if minorities (especially blacks) live in "their" part of the city which is turned into a police state, so that they don't have to deal with or live around them.
