I'm going with Kasich and Sanders for the win, Alex.

From what I have heard, it sounds like the people of NH have third degree berns.

Sanders and Trump but the real winner will be Kasich.

Sanders will win, but the question is the margin. He potentially faces a brick wall after today so will need a huge margin to continue the momentum. Trump will top the polls, but I believe the Republican race will still be left wide open.

There's a bit of money for Kasich come in on the British betting markets

I was hoping to find or start a real-time type thread for the Primary, as a place to hang-out as the returns roll in.

I guess this is the place!

Turnout appears to be very high, higher than Obama's 2008; this would appear to bode well for Bernie & The Donald. I can't call Rubio-Cruz-Kasich, but Kasich really worked the state, and exit interviews seem to show he had a buzz going.

I hope Hillary gets destroyed!

Edit: Or, perhaps the action will be in this thread just started specifically: DB

Gut feeling, Kasich will do well in NH.

I think the count is in. Kasich gets 2nd, Trump first, Cruz last behind Bush and Rubio.

I bet Cruz will be done talking the "I'm the leader" smack for a few days now...and Trump will ramp it up. lol

Greetings, JANFU. :2wave:

I hope so! He understands how important it is to have a balanced budget, and we need that expertise with our $19 trillion dollar debt load! Simpson-Bowles presented an excellent plan to Obama, but it was shelved, and we have added trillions to the debt since. Prolifigate spending is more fun, I guess, but it can't last much longer, IMO!

Looks like they are still counting. Trump first for sure, Kasich solid lead for 2nd. Fight is for 3rd and 4th between Rubio, Cruz and Jeb.

From where I am sitting Cruz is in a tie with Jeb for third. Who would have thunk that would have been possible in New Hampshire! A state that overwhelmingly voted for the socialist Bernie and Trump an idiot.

Kaisch coming 2nd is a disaster for the GOP surely?

How so? He has only been running for president in New Hampshire. He has been living there for months. Next up is Nevada and South Carolina. When you focus your win in one state how the heck is that suppose to help you beyond? Do you think the New York Times endorsement and the Boston Globe endorsement that Kasich was overwhelmed to received and wept over is going to help him in South Carolina. Think again. Cheers!

More the fact Rubio was gaining ground and then after the debate lost ground. If Rubio can move on from NH and do well great but Trump has been doing a lot of work down their and surely it helps that is main rivals have hit a speed bump?

Rubio was gaining ground because the media said so. Never in my study of politics did I see a third place winner be crowned the gold out of Iowa. Rubio became the gold instead of the bronze in the media. All the talk in the media types was Rubio was the big winner instead of Cruz who broke all records in turnout and number of votes received for any Republican candidate ever.

Right now Cruz is holding third in NH and that makes Bush fourth and Rubio fifth. But let us not forget that this is a state that just over whelming voted for a friggen socialist and an idiot populist who has negatives that surpass all other candidates as the winners.

But doesn't south Carolina normally pick the GOP winner? Trump is making a lot
of ground there, even left NH 4 days before for a rally there.

Well actually Cruz is poised to do quite well in SC. Cruz went to SC for a rally a couple of days ago while campaigning in NH.
What NH voters find exceptional normally SC doesn't agree. It's a long road to the nomination.

How far have you studied it? in 2008 McCain got 4th in Iowa and was considered to have done great because Romney did bad. Note that Romney beat McCain by 12 points and came in 2nd. Iowa is more about how you preform vs expectations than winning.

The GOP in SC and the other former Confederate states are heavily stacked with evangelical voters. Cruz's base, IMO. However, there are many folks down there who love Trump. Should be a bloody battle. I look forward to it.

The Party is split, angry and I do not see Kasich receiving support, major support from the RW side or evangelicals. Cruz has that, Trump has the angry, and we can see the same occurring in the Dems with support for Bernie.
I wonder if HRC's support would be as high in a strong field?
And I am biased, never did care for HRC.

Why is that?

I think the thought process involves electing someone other than Trump or Cruz. Before the debate it seemed like Rubio was on his way to maybe being the only one who could overtake them and win the nomination, and he had plenty of support, money, superpacs, etc. Now that Rubio has been skunked ever since the debate we now have a new person entering the field (Kasich, my man) who has no money, no ground game, no nothing in the upcoming states, probably assuring a Trump or Cruz nomination, since Trump is out in front nationwide and Cruz has a big ground game already in place up through Super Tuesday.

I'm all for not electing Trump. And I just love Kasich. My husband and I made a donation to his campaign last night after we came home from the Rubio (loss) party.

I picked Kasich right from the start. I hope he can parlay his win into something. Otherwise, it might very well be Trump or Cruz. Hopefully we will lose a bunch this time and maybe that will help Kasich. I wonder if there are even and candidates who would accept a VP offer from Trump, if he were to win. Offhand, I would say the majority would turn him down.

That's what the pundits and talking heads are saying.

I read somewhere today that Bush spent $1,200 per vote in NH, Christie $852, Rubio $508, Trump $40 and Cruz $18.

Have you seen the latest Cruz ad which is playing in SC?
