Are you ready for some football?

Anybody interested in joining an NFL pick'em league? I am sending out the feelers into seeing who would like to join. If you want to play, please chime in here. Would like to get at least 12. Winner will get a free case of Tavern Draft. :)

If you explain how it works I will gladly join.

Count me in. Go Lions! Bwhahaha

How close are we to having 12?

Why are some games listed with “Atlanta -3” and others “San Francisco +7.5.”

If I understand the odds, the team that is minus points is the favorite, right?

Look at the fist game Tampa/Dallas, compare that with the third game, Jacksonville/Houston.

A negative number indicates the number of points a team is favored by. If you bet on that team, you basically subtract those points, while you "add" the + points if you bet a dog.

Why do they not all use the the same format?

I’m not a sports book bettor, if you can’t tell…….

What do you mean? For the record, I'm not seeing the spread indicated on the CBS sports pick 'em app.

If you pull up the app with your picks, there is a link between the teams that says “view matchup analysis.”

Ah. For what it's worth, 49ers are 7.5 point favorites on the site I use.
Why the inconsistency? Tampa is favored at -7.5

Detroit is a dog at +7.5

Why the different +/- to denote the spread, confuses the shit outta me, just seeing the -points I have to think.

I don't know what inconsistency you're asking about. If you're betting a favorite, you're laying points, if you're betting a dog, you're getting points.

Why wouldn’t San Francisco be -7.5 instead of Detroit +7.5

No idea. That's weird.
Any idea about what the three digit numbers under the team names represents?

Maybe something to do with home/away games? (The +/- thing)
