NFL free agency begins... YAYYYY!!!!!

Goodbye T.O.

It'll be sad not to see you being the anchor weighing down the Cowboys anymore. Thankfully old Jerry's and Mr Choke, Tony Romo, is still there.

This is complete and utter bull****.

TO has the most heart of anyone on that team.

I have completely changed my opinion on Jerry Jones. He is a quack unable to stand up to the bull**** being spewn out of ESPN and others in the league who claim that TO is somehow a problem. Terrel was the ONLY Cowboy who was angry after the Philly loss in which the rest of the team siomply imploded around him (especially pretty boy Tony Sucko).

He's not, having a ball-less eunuch freak like Wade Phillips at head coach is problem number 3.

Having a quaterback who is vastly overrated, and unable to make plays when the game is one the line is problem number 2 (remember the Steelers game? I can only give the defense so much credit---especially when Ms Simpson is throwing at black uniforms with no blue in sight).

Finally, having an owner who treats this like fantasy football is problem #1. I can only stand up to so much BS.

My prediction is that TO will end up on a playoff team, while the Cowboys will spend the inaugural Arlington season sitting on their asses come the start of the second season.

It'll be sad not to see you being the anchor weighing down the Cowboys anymore.

It's the other half of the passing game that was the problem. Not Terrel.

BTW, I would bet it's Jones idiot son who pushed this through. We will see if I am proven right.

One thing to correct, I said "somehow TO is a problem."

I understand that he's demeanor may have caused some tension.

But this is the NFL, pretending that TO spouting is the reason for imploding is just that. In the professional football league you don't let your feelings get in the way. All that matters is performance on the field, and obviously Romo is too much of a woman to set his feelings aside.

It is being said that the Patriots are interested in him. Before anyone says anything about how they hope they take him so they can implode, recall their main WR at the moment. Remember his personal issues? Remember how he 'plays when he wants to' and will drag any team down with him? Obviously on a team in which on-field performance is all that matters it is not an impediment to winning in any way, shape, or form.

God this is like a soap opera.

Wait...so you have a guy who TWICE has gone to a team, exploded it, and been the center of the problems and you're telling me that now that he's the center of it again its not really due to him?

Sorry, I just don't buy it. Is it ALL TO? More than likely not. But a guy with such a history as his, being in the middle of this, and not having any hand in causing it is just a bit unbelievable to me.

I still think it would've been fun if they brought in Jeff Garcia.

No, I am saying that, like Tank Johnson, TO did not cause any problems with the media while in Dallas (other then that surreal suicide attempt thing a couple years back).

He has never had a problem with the law, and the level of distraction is that he got angry by the teams implosion. Never mind the fact that Terrel never complained to the media, and the simple truth is that the Cowboys needed more people like him. People who were angry (at least, that's what's being reported by sources) with the mediocrity of the team, including the people throwing the football. In professional football, you should not act like a soap opera and allow off the field issues to distract from on the field performance.

TO, having more TD's and receiving yards last season than all other Dallas WR's combined clearly understands that. Mr Simpson clearly does not and is unable to handle the pressure (outside of this season, look at the year before lasts playoff performance to quantify that).

Now that the pressure on him is going to be tenfold after this, look for him to implode before the season even begins. I simply don't think he'll be able to handle it, especially now that the best receiver on that team is gone.

You see this guy? When Belichik grabbed him people were saying he was done, that he was a problem in every NFL locker room he's ever been in, that he didn't give energy on all plays, that he would drag down the class of the NFL.

Unfortunately for all us Beantown haters that turned out to be a load of crap. Why? Because that organization is run like a professional outfit in which on the field performance is at a premium. The Cowboys are run like a movie production in which the star must be catered to at every expense.

TO was guilty of calling a spade a spade to upper management (ie the Cowboys need a lot of improvement in many areas) and is now the scapegoat by people who would rather put their head in the sand.

Seriously, I was shocked by this, especially after Jones gave his word that he wasn't going to cut "the player we both know you're talking about." I will repeat that I believe TO will be an active part of next years playoffs, and the Cowboys will not.

edit: Jeff Garcia and TO could have refused to talk to each other off the field, and I can guarantee that would have been better than Brad Johnson.

No, it was time. TO is a beast, a great athlete with exceptional skill.

Unfortunately he's a team killer. He needs to be the center of attention and divides people. You can't have that on a team, period.

We now have an opportunity to see how Roy, Patrick, Miles and Stanback respond.

TO has the most heart of anyone on that team.

Correction, had. There's no arguing the talent, the work ethic or the heart. It's the brain and the psyche that swirls around in that gray matter that is being bandied around by GM's all over the league right now.

TO was one of many problems. This is the second good thing (letting pacman go #1) I've seen JJ do in many years.

Terrel was the ONLY Cowboy who was angry after the Philly loss in which the rest of the team simply imploded around him (especially pretty boy Tony Sucko).

Romo is actually a very good quarterback, excellent ability to read the field, move around and make plays.

Romo's problem is 3 part.

1) You gotta block, you can't have him scrambling on every play. Barber getting hurt didn't help last season.

2) Romo can't be thinking whether or not if he should be getting TO the ball, because if not, TO will be causing a scene. He needs to get the ball to the open receiver, not thinking about drama.

3) I'll give Romo this year to show us if he can return to the work ethic Parcells instilled in him, and show us that he is legit.

He's not, having a ball-less eunuch freak like Wade Phillips at head coach is problem number 3.

I semi agree. Philips is a hellava defensive mind. I'm straddling the fence on his head coaching ability. It's a tough position, I mean Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells both walked because of Jerry Jones' friggin control freak ego.

Having a quaterback who is vastly overrated, and unable to make plays when the game is one the line is problem number 2 (remember the Steelers game? I can only give the defense so much credit---especially when Ms Simpson is throwing at black uniforms with no blue in sight).

See Romo assessment above.

I'm a lifelong fan, following the team back to Bob Lilly's heyday. Lotta great memories, a few rough patches. Go Cowboys!!!

Maybe, maybe not. But when the season draws near, and autumn is upon us, it's funny how we forget about all the stupid **** in life, right before kickoff...

It's the other half of the passing game that was the problem. Not Terrel.

Nah, we have an entire corps of good receivers.

BTW, I would bet it's Jones idiot son who pushed this through. We will see if I am proven right.

Actually, Jerry was the only hold out. Garret, Romo, Steven Jones and a few assistants wanted the distraction off the team.

You hush your mouth you vile Redskin fan!!!

I admit I took that I took this news a little hard, it being very unexpected to me (with Jones saying it wasn't going to happen).

It may be for the best, and I was probably too harsh on the rest of the team. There are just three things,

1. There are no more excuses. If the Cowboys have a slow start, let alone the meltdown they suffered last season, heads will roll.

2. The ticket prices on that new stadium are ungodly expensive. I mean, insanely expensive. If the Cowboys are not winning I have a hard time believing people will pay the exorbiant fees to go see them (of course, it is Dallas and I wouldn't totally rule it out).

3. As a Raider fan by birth, I believe TO would look damn good in the silver and black.

As someone that's not a raiders fan, the Raiders won't look damn good till Al Davis is in wood surrounded by dirt most likely.

Agreed, and to think he's already been reincarnated as Jerry Jones.

Well TO is a Buffalo Bill now. Kind of interesting. Small market team, with a good downfield threat in Lee Evans. I doubt he can keep his trap shut, but nobody other than Bills fans will care if he wrecks the Bills the way he's trashed other teams. Maybe it will be quiet enough up there, he could just relax and play ball. Still Trent Edwards might want to stock up on some advil. You know, just in case....

This reminds me of a joke.

Did you hear what they sentenced OJ to?

Four more years in Buffalo.

I know.

Unfortunately he is able to keep going by eating the souls of small children he buys from crack whores.

1 year $6.5 million is a safe bet if he can grab 60+ balls and find the endzone 10+ times.

I'll probably tune in to at least two Dolphins games this year, just to see if Parcells gives him a special welcome.

BArt Scott is a Jet ($40 million), Haynesworth and DeAngelo Hall are with the 'skins (100 and 54 million respectively,) Fred Taylor and Chris Baker are now Patriots (I don't know what there contracts are yet) And the Vikings have traded for Sage Rosenfels! (I don't know the specifics of that trade yet either)

My beloved Bears need a WR, a Safety and tons of o-line help, so I hope they go after Housh, Coles, or even Nate Washington at WR, Jermaine Philips or Brian Dawkins at Safety, and they MUST, must must must sign a tackle like Khalif Barnes.

I think the Texans have made a mistake trading Rosenfels away. Other than one game in which he did poorly, he did a decent job as a backup to Schaub. We had better pray that Schaub stays healthy now.
