Next President in 2028-----America's last chance to redeem itself

We will see no maneuvering for 2028 until the mid terms 2026. It will be interesting too see which names are thrown out, I was not aware of the indivual in your post.

The Dems have much too accomplish in the next few years, just opposing Trump does not offer a viable alternative. As 2024 has proven with Harris crashing.

We need to re-energize the Democratic base, not try to pander to tRump voters.

This is not a good winning strategy ... but only one part of it.

Harris strongly energized the D base, but lost.

Elections are not won by just activating the partisan base, but by winning over other parts of the political spectrum and those are Trump voters and the smaller group of 3rd-party-voters and the large group of non-voters.

If you just fire up the base, it means nothing ... that's why Hillary and Kamala lost.

Beshear would fire up the base AND attract many Trump-voters that are needed to flip the swing states (and even more states).

Black men, brown men, and the far-left defected away from Harris.

No. Harris made a strong appeal to the middle and to non-fascist conservatives. That pissed off the far left, who stayed home.

In any case, I'm going to let the primaries play themselves out. It's way too early for me to have a horse in this race.

After Obama, no Rightie would ever vote for a black man again.

He would make a good democrat candidate, but the left will always bring race into the equation ruining his chances. People are sick and tired of the typical race baiting and the usage of good black people as a target on a dartboard. Until the left gets over only seeing the color of one's skin and having candidates who can stand on their own without the need for backstops, they still look fake as hell.

When he (Moore) spoke at the DNC last year, he was very wooden. I was not impressed.

I hate him already.

No, j/k, but he's ... shall we say "problematic" (in the parlance of our times), regarding some issues. Here he is on guns, and remember this guy is a
rhodes scholar:

“I cringe at this idea that I’m violating rights. What about the rights of the individual to be able to walk into a church and know that they can worship without fear of someone coming in with a weapon?

This is a logical fallacy (appeal to safety) being framed as a “right”. It isn’t just logically weak, it is dangerously authoritarian. Your rights are not and cannot be contingent upon how others feel about them. If we start restricting rights because someone feels unsafe, where does it end? Moore could easily justify censorship if someone feels “unsafe” hearing opposing views, etc. Even protesting could be made illegal, since it will make some people feel unsafe.

As usual when it comes to left-wing politicians, the question often comes down to: is he stupid or is he evil? I'm not sure yet, but I watched some videos of him and he comes off as fake to me.

You’re a good poster boy for so much which is wrong with the Democratic left.
PAY ATTENTION:
No sooner did I predict that no Rightie would vote for a black man, we got this reply:
but the left will always bring race into the equation ruining his chances.
Yeah, it's the "left's" fault for pointing out that a black person can not get votes from the Right. I can guarantee you, IF NOT ONE of us leftist EVER mentioned race, a black man (and especially a black woman) would never get a Rightwing vote anyways.

So, cry us a river, it's not like we haven't seen or heard all the racist chants thrown at Obama when he was President. And from which side of the political spectrum did those chants come from?

If those on the Right don't want us bringing out the fact there are racists on the Right, then the Right should stop being racist. Duh!

I don’t know anything about Moore, but as far as I know he hasn’t expressed any interest in national politics or running for the presidency. But I think the 2026 midterms at this point in time is much more important than the 2028 presidential. The democrats aren’t in very good shape even for the midterms. They’re leaderless, they don’t have a message that resonates out there in middle America, they’re stuck on just an anti-Trump message, nothing positive, then there’s the fact as of today, the Democratic Party is viewed much less favorably than the republican party. Even though Trump has brought chaos back to government and the office of the presidency.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5320664-democrats-republicans-popularity-poll/

I figure that the avid, MAGA, pro-Trumpers make up approximately 35% of the electorate, the die hard anti-Trumpers another 35%. What is needed is a positive message, not just anti-Trump to the remaining 30% or so. They’re not republicans, not democrats, much less either pro or anti Trump with a lot of them neither. They’re looking for a solution to rising prices, inflation, to the illegal immigration problem, the two top issues from last year that decided how these folks voted. Inflation, the economy in general was the top issue at 35%, immigration was number two, the second most important issues at 15%, every other issue was in single digits.

The democrats need to find a leader, be it Moore or someone else, they need a coherent positive message on issues important to middle America or we’ll continue to ride the Trump train so to speak in both 2026 and 2028.

Apparently white peoples did vote for Wes Moore in Maryland for governor and I understand he is rather popular. I guess all of the whites who voted for him must be outliers?🙄

That is a strawman. Since my target was not white people in general, but a particular breed of white people, your aim was way off.
I know lots and lots of white people who would vote for someone black, Asian, Indian, or gay. I also know a few (being in Canada there are only a few) who never would but would never say so.

I do not look at party, just the bast person

anti-Trump IS a positive message....................................voters are dumber than a rock sometimes

anti-Trump IS a positive message....................................voters are dumber than a rock sometimes
If one wants to win elections, one must address the voter’s perceptions, views, wants, wishes, feelings, etc. Being anti-Trump is a negative. Especially for voters looking for a positive or a reason to vote for the democratic candidates other than just being anti-Trump. One can continue to believe the voters are dumb, that won’t get you or the democrats back in power or to get rid of Trump. At least at the ballot box.

The history of the last 3 elections shows being anti-Trump gets you about 45% of the vote just like being pro-Trump gets the GOP roughly 45% of the vote. Then it becomes a question is how to get most of the remaining 10% to vote for your candidate and party. They’re not interested in either the pro nor the anti-Trump rhetoric, they want to know how you or the GOP plans on addressing the problems, issues that are dear to them. Party doesn’t matter to them, but probable solutions do. The Democrats are leaderless, rudderless today while being 100% anti-Trump. If the midterms were held today, the GOP would probably gain 2-5 seats in the house and a senate seat or two.

I hear great things about this MTG woman.
She's not bonkers at all, not even slightly and is always polite and listens intently to the other side in debates.

She's like Mother Theresa reborn.

It's a toss-up between her and the ghost of Richard Nixon.

Best choice ever!!!!

You said white righties. Now you garble up your response which makes yourself look like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I didn't say white righties. My exact words were.........
After Obama, no Rightie would ever vote for a black man again.
So, someone read white rightie where white wasn't written. Odd, when people become defensive and petulant they lose the ability to remember what was said or not said.

You’re right. Mia culpa. You didn’t say white righties, but how do you know no rightie would vote for a black man? Are there no black republican righties?

When I say Rightie I don't mean Conservatives or Republicans. I voted for a Conservative here in Canada. I know the difference. So I am selective with my language.
If you don't like Rightie, how about calling them Rightwing Fruitcakes, or if you insist on my using the word "white" how about I use the term Whitey Tighties, which does NOT include all white people, just the Tighties who always get their shorts into a knot.
I could say the MAGA types or Trumpers. I would not say Trump voters because many voters voting for something other than what they are getting. But the MAGA types or Trumpers as I call them, are bigoted small-minded, hateful pissants.
I could even make another distinction: Conservatism used to mean something. Now Trumpers want him to pass a massive bill that will further explode the deficit. Conservatives used to be for free trade and it was Liberals who were protectionists. Go figure.
In that regard, those that are a Rightie, or a Rightwing Fruitcake, or a MAGA type, are a bunch of sad losers who are anything but Conservative.

I hope I have now clarified my position so I don't have to clarify it again.
