This might get interesting. Cook County courthouses all have metal detectors manned by Cook County Sheriffs. It's a slow single file individual one-by-one admittance process.

You step up to the metal detector, remove any items on your person, including metal belt buckles, putting these items in a tray where they examine the try contents by hand.

Then you proceed through the detector. If it doesn't go off, you are then allow through the second security barricade. If the detector goes off as you pass through the detectors, the Sheriffs use a hand-held wand detector over your body - to identify the item causing the detector to go off.

I don't see how ICE can get through, unless they were to storm the blockade en masse in a firefight.

Below are an images that appear to be taken at an off time. Usually there are long lines and at least 3-4 Sheriffs present immediately at the detectors, along with a second security line of several Sheriffs behind that in front of the inner doors behind the detectors. In between the two Sheriffs' security lines, are Sheriffs screening those who set-off the detectors, where they use hand-held wands.

As others have said, Trump can't pardon for state crimes. The difficulty is building a case against individuals. The Gov. will have to have state police arrest armed ICE agents, perhaps inviting a confrontation. I have no doubt if ICE agents that assaulted peaceful were prosecuted, they'd be found guilty. I suspect many of them are Proud Boys.

A future Democratic Justice Dept., if there ever is one, can use the RICO statute to prosecute higher-ups, under the legal theory this was an organized effort of intimidation.

The bolded is why, rather tan President, I might prefer J.B. for U.S. A.G. He is uniquely qualified for these prosecutions, and has the drive. In addition, his current legal & law enforcement apparatus is amassing a treasure-trove of evidence.

A local federal judge just this morning summoned local ICE admins back to court for violating the court's anti-violence order.

Also late in the day yesterday, Cook County barred ICE from entering County Court Hoses without a judicial warrant. Given the single-lines' metal detector ingress security points, I believe the Sheriffs may be successful in keeping them out.

There's troves of video and other evidence being archived. Chicago is not going down without a fight; a legal fight; a Constitutional fight.

There's 10M residents in the "seven county area", 5M in Cook alone. There's a ton of money, education, professional expertise, communication & organizational resources, human resources, and material resources. Trump is going to have no cakewalk in exercising his takeover. This is not D.C. or some backwater.

His name is Fr. David Black, he's an ordained Episcopalian Pastor, and he's now suing in federal court.

Based upon this and other incidents, a local federal judge recently put a restraining order on ICE using excessive force. With ICE seemingly having violated the order several times since it was placed upon them, the judge has summoned the principles back to court this morning to face her scrutiny.

Illinois Governor Pritzker is attempting to build criminal cases against individual ICE agents and administrators, both currently and after a change of administrations.

We need to remember, besides his billionaire and governor status, he is a member of the Illinois Bar and the recipient of a Northwestern University J.D.

Consequently, Pritzker's singing a constant mantra to the public of, "document, document, document".

He implores this mantra at virtually every public appearance, and it appears he, the States Attorneys, and the City Corporation Counsel, are now sitting on an ever growing trove of video and other evidence submitted by the public and news orgs.

Pitzker is thought to be in the running for the Dem '28 Presidential nomination. But to be honest, he might best serve the American public interest as U.S. Attorney General.
