Oh, because Edward Pollard was a Confederate sympathizer then he is to be rejected. As though all these quotes you and others give come from Union soldeirs or sources are credible because they are from the Union? Pollard is source material.
My opinion on Fort Pillow is that it is labeled a massacre because of the large number of blacks killed. It was an embarassment to the yankees and their use of black troops. Better to be labeled a massacre after surrender than a product of black troops cowardice during the fight.
Oh my, White Supremacy! How evil those Southernors were. Lincoln was a white supremacist as were most whites in that day, North and South. Though the North today doesn't want to admit it.
Ever heard of 'Manifest Destiny'? The Yankees believed in it. Only it didn't entail blacks.

Fort Pillow was called a massacre because of the slaughter of troops who had surrendered.
