New Mexico Rebellion?

Of course it was. You may not have read many history books, but that was the U.S. flag they fired on at Fort Sumpter. Those were U.S. troops they killed in battle throughout the Civil War. And it was the United States they wanted to leave. I know these may be difficult concepts to grasp, but the Confederacy made war on the United States of America. To preserve slavery. Period.
In elementary school we are taught that the Civil War was about slavery. However, those of us who went on to achieve a higher education found out that while slavery was an emotive and hot-button issue, we learned about tariffs, sectionalism, states rights and a number of other complexities difficult for 10 year-olds to grasp. I suggest that someone who has been educated to a degree to make them competent to effectively argue about such topics would not have written your last two 'sentences' either grammatically or 'factually'.

Let me guess. You was edumecated in the south? bwahahahaha

Gun owners of America. Jesus wept.

However, if New Mexico would like to secede from the Union and become a Mexican state - or better yet, a Republic, I'll help them pack.
Obviously you don't have a clue about how this country is really suppose to work. You're of the mind that the all mighty federal government can dictate down to the smallest level. You're the one that ought to be packing up, if you don't like the Constitution.

Yeah, San Diego, right in the heart of Dixie. Even though most of my professors were liberal, but not the knee-jerk Top Cat kind, if I had answered that the reason for the Civil War was slavery, I would have flunked. What passes in elementary school does not necessarily in university. You may not understand this clearly, but they do assume a greater level of understanding, sophistication and analysis.
