Is not Christianity based on the Mythical being in the sky, sacrificing his only son for the supposed benefit of mankind.
 
I know it sounds nefarious with the word 'sacrifice ' because of religious connotations, but slaughtering an animal for a feast is something people do in many countries without a packaged meat industry.

In Michigan aren't hunters allowed to shoot and skin a deer? Can farmers kill and gut a chicken? It's no different, except some swarthy foreigner is doing it and praying at the same time.

What's the big deal here? I walked through a meat plant where thousands of animals are slaughtered. Does the motivation behind it matter? They eat the meat.

I mean...it's backwards as ****...but we kill animals all...the...time. The only way I could get all riled up about this is if it were shown that cruel methods were used to kill them.

And in any case, as one who lives on a paleo diet, I'm really in no position to condemn the killing of animals anyway.

The new provisions initially stipulated that people who perform animal sacrifices notify the city beforehand, pay a fee for post-ritual sanitary inspections and keep the sacrifice out of the view of the nonparticipating public. Those stipulations were later removed, Ms. Jaczkowski told the Detroit Free Press.

After scanning the article I saw mention of sheep and chickens, and Muslims sure as hell eat those, so I'm going to guess they do.

If the manner of the killing isn't cruel then I just can't see this being a big deal.
