New FEMA head says he'll 'run right over' staff who resist changes (1 Viewer)

Do you want to phone a friend?

The two of you.

Turning an inept attempt at bullshit into a sea lion adventure is expected, and boring.

FAFO. Don't get run over.

I know all the tricks.
Oh. You think I have something to do with that FEMA guy. I see.

You are wrong, but that's not a surprise, is it?

Agreed. But not by Trump or DOGE shit. Preferably by someone who knows what they are doing.
And you believe the Biden administration was helpful with the very obviously issues regarding FEMA? What specifically that has been implemented with FEMA under the Trump administration do you believe is currently a failure?

Considering the partisan political shit show that got exposed at FEMA, I'd say his approach is needed and spot on.

FEMA needs restructuring. Having dealt first hand I can say, there needs to be changes. Is this the right way to do it, I don’t know. But I can say I personally believe there does need to be changes made.
Lol does it? Why do republicans think smashing our government and selling off the shattered pieces to private equity is a good thing?

I think MAGA believes this means California and New York will get ****ed on disaster relief while Florida and Texas will get extra funds. By the time the rubes come wise, it’ll be too late to make any changes.

Just keep track of what all of these people do. Regimes don't last forever. Once the regime ends, address the arsonists.
This. Once it collapses, you go after EVERYONE. Every single one that is in this admin, every single person funded this shit show. Every single CEO and every organization they funneled money into and through.

You can not be weak on this. That is what has gotten us here in the first place. Nixon being pardoned started this. Then you have Reagan who got away with the shit he did, W Bush and his regime and the shit they did, and the most recent **** up, Biden and Garland letting Trump and the GOP just walk on by. They waited entirely too long and didn't threaten a clearly corrupt as **** SCOTUS trying to prop this corruption and bullshit up with legal word salad and partisan hackery. They needed to be ruthless, instead they were morons who thought were afraid to rock the boat and wanted to get back to normal, like someone with cancer not wanting to deal with the tumor in fear of what might happen if they have to acknowledge it is there on a daily basis with chemo and other treatments.

And what was that?

The blatant lies told by Trump?

Would you like to compare the funding that went to the Western Part of North Carolina? Come on, FEMA has issues. They have had issues for many years. I have personally experience those issues.

So you think the States should fund all disasters on their own? That is what Trump is planning. What was your problem with FEMA? Did they send you too much money or something?

I wouldn’t mind new kitchen countertops but that doesn’t mean I should set my house on fire.

My problem with FEMA was that our community relied on churches, and non profit to help us long before FEMA stepped in. Your response makes it perfectly clear to me that you have not personally experience a natural disaster. Ever had to kayak out of your home? Have your neighbors be airlifted off roofs, can you imagine the stench as dead animals floated by your front door. Gone almost four weeks without electricity? Don’t BS me, by saying “did they send you too much money or something”. I surely will bookmark your response. It’s a doozy

What an odd response. Do you believe those who loose everything are responsible for that happening.

So you think FEMA should be expanded then. That is the opposite of what Trump is doing. I live in SW Florida and have experienced no less than 4 CAT 4 Hurricanes since Charly in 2004. Fema has done a good job on all of them and our MAGA Governor has complemented them too. Trump plans on making EVERYONE rely on churches and charity in natural disasters so your nightmare is coming true. Good job. That is what you get for voting for a felon and sexual abuser.

But FEMA came, correct, Tamlee? Is your problem that they did not respond quickly enough? Do you think gutting the organization will make them more responsive?

Well, the proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say. We shall see the level of competency and responsiveness from FEMA the next time a major disaster strikes the United States.

Expanded? No, why would I think they need to expand? From what I saw they were disorganized and unprepared to deal with the response. More individuals wouldn’t have solved those issues, but proper training would have.
So when you experience those CAT4 hurricanes did you interact on a personal basis with FEMA? You know, have a case number and case worker and all? I am actually very interested in hearing more about your experience with FEMA. I am totally open to sharing our individual experiences dealing with a disaster in which our property and the property of our loved ones were damaged.

Good. I don't feel like paying for this years' hurricanes.

Most states that hurricanes hit are red states, so yeah, FAFO. Same with tornadoes.

Actually my experience with FEMA was not immediate, or even a week in. The Red Cross, and other agencies were first to respond. I believe the agency needs to address their many problems and be restructured. That is just my personal opinion going off my own experience.

President Donald Trump and Noem have called for the agency to be shrunk or even abolished, arguing that many of its functions can be carried out by the states,

Trump should have campaigned on this more. I didn't vote for him because of the tariffs, but if I had know he was going to be this hostile to the federal bureaucracy I would have voted for him, and I think millions of other people would have too.

Yes in every one of those disasters I had a FEMA representative come to my house and offer assistance. I have also received money 3 times from FEMA which helped to cover my repairs. It did not cover all the expenses but was enough to make a dent.

LOL So you didn't read Project 2025? You know the program that Trump denied knowing about but immediately began implementing as soon as he took office?

This guy's bio is extremely vague and the way he speaks to his subordinates at FEMA pretty much explains why.

He's got zero experience in natural disaster management but he doesn't need any, because hopefully he'll just destroy fema from within.

There's really no defense for fema. Just look at how they handled katrina. That alone is enough to demonstrate what a bad idea it is having the idiot feds involved in local affairs.
