I agree but as we've seen from 1996 to 2017 these numbers decreased drastically all that same time we had fire arms.

But the one constant is that U.S. per capita numbers are way higher than in other countries with similar economies and governments. And guns are the obvious factor difference between us and them. Our "best" years would be disastrous numbers for other countries.

That "middle of the pack" claim was actually comparing us with third world countries. We were close to Burundi.
