Never let a crisis go to waste

You do realize the shooter bought the guns legally right? So the shooter used the rights and liberties you care so deeply about... to kill people. Your rights and liberties. But the moment someone suggests taking them away to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening? Well your words tell us what you think:
The shooter should to have passed a background check. He was mentally ill and it was enabled by his mother.

Me thinks that you know nothing of love. Perhaps you grew up without knowing the loving embrace of a child?
View attachment 67586820

Your claims of superior compassion allow you to make personal comments marginalizing other people.

So you got that going for you.

The shooter should to have passed a background check. He was mentally ill and it was enabled by his mother.

Your rights and liberties killed those children. You're the NRA instructor right? If I remember correctly you don't teach people how to spot signs of mental illness right? Because that's going to take away a person's rights and liberties.

Am I right?

Background check?
What part of shall not be infringed do you not understand?

Yes, how dare people talk about gun control after a bunch of kids have been killed by guns.
It's not like it ever changes anything.

Oh wait, it did in the UK where after 1 school shooting we had a vast public outcry and the law was changed.
I suppose that makes us a bunch of crybabies though.

A "vast public outcry" is not necessarily anything rational.

You pity us for putting the lives of kids before the desires of a small bunch of people who want to own firearms?

We made the right decision and if you don't like it don't visit the UK or any other country with strict gun controls.
The law was changed after public outcry, it had **** all to do with subservience.
And now your government want so take away pointed knives.

You have 12 year olds carrying knives to protect themselves from the migrants you have let into your country.

Am I right?

No. You went wrong when you claimed that his rights and civil liberties "killed those children". That doesn't make any sort of sense.

Of course, you can try to stick by an examination of that claim if you want. You won't, but you can try.

Why would I teach people to spot signs of mental illness in a gun safety course?

Oh, that right, you are the person who admitted that she couldn't be trusted with a firearm. But because of that, you want to take away others rights and liberties.

Background check?
What part of shall not be infringed do you not understand?

You can only argue against the most extreme position you can think of.

And now your government want so take away pointed knives.

Yes, the government are looking into it, that doesn't mean the law will change and even if it does, who the hell cares?

Are you really that bothered about having a pointy knife?
Seriously?

Also you don't see the irony of living in a country where kids shoot at each other and then get shocked by knife crime in the UK?
I'd take knife crime over mass shootings on the regular any day.

Background check?
What part of shall not be infringed do you not understand?
Look up the ATF 4473. NICS background checks are mandatory for all sales from FFLs. It is a good compromise. Of course, you could lie on the form and then let Daddy pardon you afterwards. But most people won't take that risk.

Correlation =/= causation. We can also lay the blame for criminals using guns to kill people at feet of the soft on crime Democrats that let convicted criminals free and refusal to prosecute them for things like "felon in possession of a firearm".

It's a pretty damned strong correlation, guns and gun deaths.

No they aren't. Democrats just don't want to prosecute criminals when we catch them with guns.

Dems didn't pardon 1600 criminals in one fell swoop. Don't lecture us about being soft on crime. You elected a criminal, ffs.

Assault rifles are Class II firearms regulate under the NFA of 1934 and restricted by the Hughes Amendment of 1986. They are not easily available.

Sorry. Assault style rifles. They are all over the place, easily accessible, and a favorite of those who shoot a lot of people at one time. But I think you knew that.

Why should anyone have to give up guns that they are safely using because a demented sick and twisted evil individual committed murder? Do you propose that we all give up our cars to stop drunk drivers?

Because cars are necessary. Guns are not.

You keep going back to blaming demented, sick people, but other countries have demented, sick people and a whole lot fewer murders. It's the guns.

But the moment someone suggests taking them away to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening? Well your words tell us what you think:

Ah...so you're one of the people who want to ban guns that the other people who want to radically restrict access to guns...claim don't exist.

How do you feel about taking away privately owned motor vehicles to prevent tragedies from taking place?

Yes, the government are looking into it, that doesn't mean the law will change and even if it does, who the hell cares?

The pointy knife thing is just an illustration of how far the birthplace of Richard and Arthur has fallen.

It's a pretty damned strong correlation, guns and gun deaths.

It's a tautology. Like skateboards and skateboard deaths, knives and knife deaths, and ropes and rope deaths.

Dems didn't pardon 1600 criminals in one fell swoop. Don't lecture us about being soft on crime. You elected a criminal, ffs.

Sorry. Assault style rifles. They are all over the place, easily accessible, and a favorite of those who shoot a lot of people at one time. But I think you knew that.

But it happens very rarely, relative to the number of people with that access you fret over.

Because cars are necessary. Guns are not.

No...I know of many people who survive just fine without a personal car.

You keep going back to blaming demented, sick people, but other countries have demented, sick people and a whole lot fewer murders. It's the guns.

Other countries have fewer guns and more murders. It's the murderers. Guns are inanimate objects with no magical powers.

It's a pretty damned strong correlation, guns and gun deaths.
Still does not equal causation.
Dems didn't pardon 1600 criminals in one fell swoop. Don't lecture us about being soft on crime. You elected a criminal, ffs.
Goalpost moved noted. What about Democrats not prosecuting criminals for firearms possession?
Sorry. Assault style rifles. They are all over the place, easily accessible, and a favorite of those who shoot a lot of people at one time. But I think you knew that.
How would I know that. Words mean things. Not my fault if you are not accurate in your posts.
Because cars are necessary. Guns are not.
Cars are not necessary. You can always walk or use public transport. Or rideshare.
You keep going back to blaming demented, sick people, but other countries have demented, sick people and a whole lot fewer murders. It's the guns.
On a per capita basis, the United States is mid pack on murders.

Why would I teach people to spot signs of mental illness in a gun safety course?

Oh, that right, you are the person who admitted that she couldn't be trusted with a firearm. But because of that, you want to take away others rights and liberties.

You say the shooter should have had a screening for mental health to make sure they could safely own firearms, but you don't know why someone who teaches how to use firearms safely... should know a thing or two about signs of suicidal ideation or prevention?

Your right. I know my health. I know it's not safe for me to use firearms. So I don't have them. Kinda obvious really.

The pointy knife thing is just an illustration of how far the birthplace of Richard and Arthur has fallen.

What, fallen away from feudalism and vigilantism?

Oh, no, how will we survive without everyone being armed to the teeth and ready for war?
I'm just surprised the UK hasn't been completely taken over by a medium sized US street gang as we're so defenceless.
Surely they can get the job done with their guns?

Why firearms, specifically?

You think having a stout steak knife is "armed to the teeth and ready for war"?

It's a tautology. Like skateboards and skateboard deaths, knives and knife deaths, and ropes and rope deaths.

10-20K/year. When skateboards approach those numbers, let me know.

But it happens very rarely, relative to the number of people with that access you fret over.

It happens way, way more rarely where guns are not as accessible.

No...I know of many people who survive just fine without a personal car.

Wow. Great argument.

Other countries have fewer guns and more murders. It's the murderers. Guns are inanimate objects with no magical powers.

You are comparing us with the worst countries in the world, not with comparable countries.

Still does not equal causation.

No, but all gun-related murders are committed by people with guns. 100%.

Goalpost moved noted. What about Democrats not prosecuting criminals for firearms possession?

What about Republicans not prosecuting criminals? It happens everywhere, including red states. Jails are full.

How would I know that. Words mean things. Not my fault if you are not accurate in your posts.

My bad. I thought you were just playing dumb.

Cars are not necessary. You can always walk or use public transport. Or rideshare.

And you can live just fine without guns, too. Given the choice of one or the other, I think people would choose to own a car, for obvious reasons.

On a per capita basis, the United States is mid pack on murders.

That's just BS.

10-20K/year. When skateboards approach those numbers, let me know.

Irrelevant to it being a tautology. One that's necessary to push the agenda, I suppose. It's still a function of rhetoric more than anything useful.

It happens way, way more rarely where guns are not as accessible.

But so do all the beneficial uses happen way way more rarely.

Wow. Great argument.

Good enough to stop you in your tracks, apparently.

You are comparing us with the worst countries in the world, not with comparable countries.

No, I compared us with all the world's countries.
