Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria is now World Heritage

And Ludwig II had also planned 3 more of those castles.
But then he drowned in a lake under mysterious circumstances.

Who has been there?

I think I visited there once with a young lady friend who later became my assistant in the laboratory.
There was an old lady who ran the place and the horses were not fond of her.

Would never go - I´m more interested in older history and real castles, not the dream of a sick Monarch in the 19´th century. No problem with that stuff but neither interested in.

For me if it ain't Roman or older, then not interested..

Isn't that good ole Mad Lud's place? Whatever happened to the good old chap?

Isn't that good ole Mad Lud's place?
It's actually only one of four of his "castles" - but it is easily the most stunning and dramatically located one.
Whatever happened to the good old chap?
Alas, he turned out to not be nearly as immortal as his residences have become.
😊

Burg Altena - 35km from my place (20 miles) . A real medevial castle with a lot of history. - you´ll find it anywhere here ;)
