A war criminal nominates another war criminal for the Nobel Peace Prize. This will trigger some chuckles in Norway.

CNN - When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the White House Monday for dinner, he came bearing what has become the ultimate host gift for President Donald Trump: a letter nominating him for a Nobel Peace Prize.

The award has become Trump’s ultimate fixation, one he says is well deserved for his efforts to end conflicts around the globe, including the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

They want to go to Oslo but they belong in The Hague.

So now Trump is a war criminal? Sieg heil! 😂😂😂

Give up, man. No one other than gullible idiots looking for a religion substitute believes you people.

You'd hope it will trigger some chuckles, but in this upside down world, one can never be sure.

the argument being trump's solid support, both verbally and with weapons, for isreal's bombing of innocent civilians in gaza.
not sure if that makes him a "war criminal" by a legal standard, but it certainly is hardly "nobel peace prize" material either.

Siccing troops on your own citizens is a bad look.

yeah, that's another aspect of trump's behavior, but I assumed for this thread the issue was trump's support for blowing up women and children.

Can't think of anyone less worthy of receiving this prestigious award-except Netanyahu. I doubt Trump is even aware of who Alfred Bernhard Nobel was. The Nobel committee must be pissing themselves laughing.

Norway will give trump a Nobel Prize when Trump holds a press conference without lying or calling people names.
Don't hold your breath.

Is this the latest Fani Willis Hail Mary to get Trump or what? Don’t you people ever give up?

So how do you make the leap in logic from Trump exercising his constitutional authority to pardon individuals, even convicted war criminals, to being a war criminal himself? Just the CliffsNotes version this time, please.
giving bombs to isreal to blow up women and children seems kinda war criminal-ish, at least to moral people.

Trump, a convicted felon, pardoning other convicted felons? Nothing wrong in that, right? If Trump supports Israel he tacitly supports the commission of war crimes which Netanyahu has already been charged with. Guilt by association.

I asked you to give me a summary of your argument, not sixty single-spaced pages of legal text. Did you actually read that? I read the conclusion, and based on that I can say this: It’s because the of crap like this that the United States has firmly resisted ceding sovereignty to any international judicial body over the U.S. military. And it sure as hell won’t cede the president’s constitutional authority to pardon whomever the hell he wants to pardon, including suspected or convicted war criminals. Just imagine if the ICC had existed when Abraham Lincoln was president, or when Andrew Johnson personally pardoned Nathan Bedford Forest.

It might have slowed down the creation of the KKK.

Trump still chasing after Obama, looking for that Nobel Peace Prize, lol. Not that the Peace Prize means anything, they gave it to Arafat.

Nathan Bedford Forrest absolutely was a war criminal who went on to form an organization that would inflict a reign of terror across the country for over a century to come. If there had been an international body capable of bringing him to justice that would have been an objectively good thing.

The US firmly seeking to protect its war criminals at all costs is a damning indictment of America, yes.

Could you imagine a less worthy recipient?

Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in part for his “outreach to the Muslim world.” Boy, I’ll say. 😆 Obama did a lot of Muslim outreach with the CIA, SOCOM, and the U.S. Air Force, including reaching out to Muslim civilians with armed drones and missiles in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was enough for the touchy-feely bleeding hearts at Harvard Political Review to label him a war criminal. At least Trump has the Abraham Accords in his corner. What peace did Obama bring? Afghanistan? Iraq? Syria? Libya? The Sudan? A “Russia reset” after Putin’s invasion of Georgia? How did that work out?
