Wallets in Japan are about to get a little bit lighter, thanks to the introduction of the world’s first automated teller machine that doesn’t require a bank card to get cash or check your balance. It simply reads your palm.
No thanks - I'd rather a criminal have to know my number before he can steal my money.

What does "databasing abuses" mean exactly?I'm with you on this. I don't like biometrics due to the large level of databasing abuses which will occur when it's aggregated to a high enough level.
All passports isued in the U.S. use the technology.

I got my passport previous, though when I renew it will not be that way. I don't think we should really allow it. Too much potential for abuse.
You've still not explained what abuses this system is open to? Your response sounds like irrational fear of the new and unknown at the moment.I don't think we should really allow it. Too much potential for abuse.
Well if your basis is science fiction, they just need a geeky computer "hacker" to plug a laptop in to a random phone socket since they can take control of any computer system in 30 seconds (all while using a flashy but impractical user-interface).How many science fiction movies have you seen where a guy's eye is gouged out so it can be scanned (Demolition Man), or a guy's hand is cut off so it can be scanned? And half the plot in Gattaca is getting around biometrics.

Back in the real world, all this demonstrates is how much more effort and commitment would be necessary to circumvent biometric security. After all, if you're a criminal willing to start hacking limbs off, you can probably make a lot more money than the typical daily limit on a cash machine.
Please stop being wilfully ignorant. The lower type of criminal thugs kill for very little money, haven't you watched the news?
Im sure nobody would notice the SEVERED HAND
Lol!

I wouldn't know. I've never owned luggage that required a combination. That's the combination an idiot puts on their luggage.
