So, the play-in bracket is worth 5 points. Everything else is worth 10 points and increase by 10 points the deeper we go into the tournament (so 20, then 30, etc.). There's a special bonus in the first bracket to make the play-in bracket picks essentially worth 10.

Only one top seed has ever lost in the opening round. It won't happen again this year so the #16 seeds don't matter.

The #10 seeds are another matter. One or two of them wins every year.

It's funny, but Virginia is the only #1 seed to lose in the first round and they won it all the next year. Just sayin'.

Twice. UVA vs UMBC in 2018 and Purdue vs Farleigh Dickinson last year.

Not likely to matter, but possible.
