Nazi is short for National Socialist Party but I guess the lefties don't know history. So you have Bernie, Rashida Tlaib, AOC, Mamdani and a handful of other democrat mouthpieces that have railed against the jews and they claim to be socialist. . Now they hate the jews, support the Palestinians who hate the jews and have repeatedly sworn to annialate the Jews and destroy Israel. Seems the democrats are far closer to being Nazi's than anyone else.

Oh good lord, the irony! First of, the NAZI name was short for Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, which translates to National Socialist German Workers' Party, so in your very first sentence, you prove your own ignorance of actual history, but that is just the very tip of your ignorance of history. The party was an attempt to draw the working class away from communism by using milder socialist rhetoric. When businesses started getting pissed, they changed again to a more pro-capitalist, pro-business stance, that then shifted almost exclusively to pro-fascist, pro-nationalist, anti-semitic organization. Trying to understand the NAZI party of the 20s through 40s without actually knowing the history of Germany of the time period is just stupid. The forces and issues where very different.

Please try and avoid lecturing people on history when you so clearly know nothing of the history you are actually trying to lecture on. You can only look silly doing it.

While there are some differences, socialism and authoritarianism tend to overlap since you need government control to implement socialism.

I'd push back even with your characterization of post-Weimar Germany, but yes generally speaking the cool thing about the Nazis is that they can really be anything you want them to be, much like The Protestant devil!

There's also a not-so-subtle irony in the OPs fear mongering, which is that Israel is easily the closest modern analogue to National Socialist Germany outside of (debatably) contemporary China.

For a time, yes it was a form of socialism. That was a brief period of time until it changed to appeal to businessmen and capitalists. Even when it was socialist, it did so to counter communists and Marxists. It is not really a simple yes or no.

In practice, yes it could. In fact authoritarians love to hijack terminology to pretend they aren't. It's like with real world communism. Actual communism rarely has anything to do with the failed philosophy of Marx. Some will use it as propaganda to kick start their revolutions, but the reality of what we call communism like China and the USSR and NK are just authoritarian shitholes masquerading as something else.

But Nazi is a specific application and platform, and it has long been a far-right authoritarian system.

Not necessarily. Northern Europe for example is very far down the socialist path, but not really authoritarian.

What's "actual communism?" Has it been practiced successfully anywhere in modern society?
 
They say that they're not socialist because they don't recognize that socialists have a tendency to fight with one another. And also the only kind of socialism they accepted Marxist socialism therefore nationalistic socialism can't compute.

What you really need to understand about all this is socialism is good everything else is bad everything that is bad is not socialism and socialism most certainly is not communism.

Then you'll understand their position I won't say you'll agree with it but you'll at least understand their thinking.
