Navy SEAL on BinLaden Raid Speaks Out
By LEE FERRAN and LUIS MARTINEZ | ABC News – Wed,Aug 29, 2012.
The reported account appears to differ fromearlier versions of the raid given by U.S. officials, including that of WhiteHouse spokesperson Jay Carney, that the SEALs had entered the room before binLaden was shot, that one of bin Laden's wives charged the SEALs and that binLaden had "resisted" before he was killed, even if he was unarmed.
Navy SEAL on Bin Laden Raid Speaks Out - Yahoo! News
"My worry from the beginning is, you know, it's a political season. This book is not political whatsoever," Owen told CBS. "You know, if these -- crazies on either side of the aisle want to make it political, shame on them. This is a book about Sept. 11, and it needs to rest on Sept. 11. Not be brought into the political arena, because this-- this has nothing to do with politics."

Your book may not be political but you were used as a pawn to accomplish a political goal, Mr. Navy Seal. I hope you know that.
These leaks are ****ing ridiculous. Granted, the American people have a right to know eventually, but there are tactics and strategies possibly mentioned in that book that could possibly be read by the enemy, and compromise National Defense Strategies. I was just as pissed when Mr. Obama decided to announce the Bin Laden raid RIGHT AFTER IT HAPPENED. The whole point behind a stealth mission like that is to get in, get the job done, and get out QUIETLY. But no, lets just air that **** on TV immediately so we can face possible reprocussions before we are prepared to deal with them. -facepalm-
By some of the replies and "likes" on this thread I can see a few right wingers are still in pain because Obama was the guy who gave the final go ahead.
It was his idea to write the book.
Or are you saying he was paid by the Republicans to write it? That's just silly.
He is in trouble, though...the Pentagon has written him a letter threatening criminal action:
Yep.
Again Yep. However, that will be the next Dim lie. After all, this does not make the Kenyan look good. And somehow they've got to get around to blaming Bush for the book.
You are correct. However, Eric may want to throw the book at him, but actually going to trial is something the DoD will fight tooth and nail behind the scene to prevent. Of course publicly, they will be in lock-step with the Kenyan's fabulously fair AG.
If this goes to trial ...
1. It will not be a 'behind closed doors' trial. Too much public interest and too many 'dream team' wannabe, pro bono ambulance chasers wanting their '15 minutes'.
2. The guy is wrong, period. I had a SCI clearance, and I know exactly what paperwork he signed ... been there, done that myself. But, the JAG knows that the ambulance chasers will want to get every scrap of paperwork (including doodles) that has ever been written about the subject. Even if the information is redacted ... the JAG knows what the problems are. Eric, on the other hand, won't care for two reasons ... first, it's a white boy defendant and second, he cares not about national security ... just like the Kenyan.
3. The Kenyan and Eric both will have their pink slips long before this even gets to trial (assuming there is one). The new AG will let this can of worms crawl back into the pile of bovine processed oats whence it came.
My personal opinion is this ... the guy should have submitted the manuscript for DoD review. However, had he actually followed that proceedure, the book would NEVER have been published because the DoD would NEVER have released it for publication. The Kenyan can (and did) breech any and all security protocols, but woe unto a mere mortal who does the same.
I can't wait to read the book. The spattering of information I've seen thus far doesn't make the Kenyan muzzie look too good ... especially the fabricated story about his death. I guess this is MY moment to copy the Kenyan and say, "I don't have all the facts but ...". The Kenyan tried to make himself look like a good CINC and yet again failed. Remember the Seals that took out the Somali pirates? In an ex post facto comment, the Kenyan tried to take credit for what the Navy ship Captain did ... give the order. And even worse, the Kenyan wanted the Seals to come to the WH so he could "honor" them. They did not go because they knew that showing up was their death sentence and a death sentence for any and all of their family members.
In conclusion, my opinion about the 'threatening letter' is that is just a noise making threat (a threat is something that you might or might not do). This is a bunch of 'Kenyan' wash (was going to use the word hog, but I don't want to insult either the pigs or Harley Davidson). The noise will echo for a very short time and then go away (did I happen to mention something about bovine processed oats?).

"Kenyan", "Dim", do you have a problem using the correct name for people you are referring to?
Yep.
Again Yep. However, that will be the next Dim lie. After all, this does not make the Kenyan look good. And somehow they've got to get around to blaming Bush for the book.

The only thing I don't like about bins death is it was too easy. It is unfortunate they couldn't have shot him in the guts first and let him lie on the floor in pain until the search was complete then take the head shot. The case could be made for shooting his wives as he laid there watchiing too.
Terrorist? Freedom Fighter? Which one's are we?
I think the author should have chosen the pen name Benedick Arnold. He is looking to cash in on his 15 minutes by throwing the reputation of the Navy Seals under the bus and saying **** you to the Pentagon. He legally signed non disclosure and the DOJ should pursue this if he has breeched his agreement. he will simply be remembered as a political pawn and a sell out instead of an American hero.
I just read the link Maggie posted. This guy might be in some serious legal trouble.

Not very patriotic to try and profit from what the Seals did.
Profit is the American way. That's why uncle sammy should pay SEALs better retirement packages if they want them to stay quiet.

I have a close friend formerly CIA .. He was at the barracks in Beirut when all those Marines were killed. He would NEVER write a book.
Not sure what you think your "dishing out" but I don't recall the Left doing it on this forum because most of the mods were "very conservative" and it would have qualified as a "hate message" against a group of people and too when you say "you Dims" makes it a personal attack. But really, the only reason I brought it up is because when I read your post, your incessant use of the word "Kenyan" which some consider to be racist was so distracting that it undermined your intelligence, credibility and any point you might have made. They are correct names. BTW ... I've said it before, and apparently you missed it so I'll say it again ... I love it when you libs get your shorts all tied up in knots over these names. Think back to the days when you cry babies had such a swell time with the litany of foul names you used on George W Bush. As Dirty Harry said, "Make my day" and keep it up with the whine machine noise. You Dims can dish it out ... you just can't take it.
God, I love it.
