Sources say she has 2 speeches lol.... I say she packs it up and goes home to California to retire with the elites courtesy of inside trading, and illegal kickbacks.

Does she retire or stay?

----------------------------

After the Republican Party took the majority in the US Lower House, Pelosi will have to step down as Speaker to be succeeded by Republican Kevin McCarthy, although so far she has not confirmed what her next steps in politics will be.

"Pelosi has been overwhelmed by calls from colleagues, friends and supporters. Tonight, the Speaker has been closely following the final results in the three remaining critical states. The Speaker plans to address her future plans tomorrow with her colleagues," Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill asserted on Twitter.

The message comes just hours after the Republican candidate to succeed Pelosi has assured that the Republican Party has "fired" her from the floor.

"Tonight it's official: the Democrats' one-party rule is over. We have fired Nancy Pelosi," McCarthy reiterated in statements to FOX News shortly after his party won the 218th seat, which gives Republicans control of the House of Representatives.

Unless she decides she wants to retire, I don’t see here going anywhere.

I expect her to be the Minority Leader, and I expect her to play McCarthy like a violin.
Where would she go if she didn't retire and become the ML?

Nancy could out politic and out maneuver McCarthy from her coffin. She has earned the honor of possibly the best speaker ever and certainly at the very top of the list.

Personally, she deserves a nice quiet retirement with family and friends. God Speed Nancy.

Nancy Pelosi is the most effective Speaker of the House in modern times. That’s why the right hates her so much.

Whether she wants to retire is entirely up to her. She certainly has earned the privilege and is a senior citizen. The only people who can “fire” her are her constituents and they just re-elected her.

She likely will stick around as minority leader, since she still has the talent to get the Democrat’s coalition voting as one. She also may want to enjoy watching the narrowest House majority of Republicans eat themselves alive with the MAGA nut cases nixing everything reasonable Republicans propose.

In two years, America will see what Republicans did with their majority. I think they will have buyers remorse watching them do nothing for Americans and instead go off on the Vengeance Tour — endlessly investigating people they don’t like and wasting time impeaching Joe Biden, who hasn’t committed any high crimes or misdemeanors.

In Washington, she is enjoying life. Now, she can sit eating popcorn watching Republicans make buffoons out of themselves.
Unless she is laying there next to you, you are speculating whether she is enjoying life. Perhaps her even elder husband needs her more.

“One-party rule”, what a complete moron McCarthy is. Was it one-party rule from 2016 to 2018? A child has a better grasp of political terminology than this idiot. Let him have his day of crowing. He’ll soon realise he’s beholden to the crazy caucus and will have to let MAGA trolls like MTG run committees. His time as speaker will be a laughing stock.

Maybe she'll run for president. She's the right age. We only want people in their 80's these days

While this is interesting, it's not breaking news. It will be breaking news when she makes a decision.

Hopefully, she'll call it quits, but I have a feeling she will hang on with both claws. Democrats desperately need to get new leadership in. The party practice of those in power hanging onto their positions for decades is not healthy.

Effective? She's been incredibly divisive and is responsible for much of the inability of congress to find compromise. She's personally signed off on more national debt than all other speakers combined. Effective at creating dysfunction and debt? Sure.

He will be a laughingstock if he even wins the speakership, which at this point is in doubt. If he doesn't win he will be even more ridiculed as a loser.

Yeah, you have to wonder how it's going to go for McCarthy since he may not even get to be speaker. One can dislike Pelosi all day, but she's a pretty crafty politician, and having her to deal with as minority leader and the current rift in the GOP is not an enviable task. He may relish having "fired" Pelosi, but he may not even get the job.

What is your post, if not “speculation?”

"Divisive" -- you mean not giving into Republican obstruction. I don't know what compromise you mean. The GOP is the party of NO.

Regarding debt, it's interesting that Republicans only care about debt when Democrats are in power. They didn't care about debt when Reagan, with Bush or Trump was president. Maybe if Republicans are serious about debt they'd prove it by not giving tax cuts to the rich when they are in power.

Her insider trading scheme for decade needs a forensic investigation

I will miss Speaker Pelosi and believe, with some exceptions, to have been a great Speaker and Congressperson and more good for America than not.

But I also feel that Speaker Pelosi, along with others in Democrat Leadership positions it it time for stepping aside and down and allowing for a movement up of younger blood across the board.

Republican obstructionism? Sounds like sour grapes. The democrat party's idea of compromise or bipartisanship is the republicans coming 100% around and adopting the democrat positions.

That has been the exact stance of the Republican Party when it has ever held sway.

Too funny!
