I'm a man of many talents, but predicting all of Trump's future crimes and providing evidence for all of these future crimes is not one of them.

The action taken by Pelosi was something that was mentioned a few days ago by a guest on one of the CNN shows. It means that it is now official that Trump has been impeached but will not be exonerated by the Senate.

It is an intelligent move and one that accomplishes much for the Democrats. With no exoneration by the Senate, the only thing that is official is that Trump was impeached.

If the Democrats continue these kinds of shrewd moves, they will outsmart the Republicans. I call it "playing by their rules and beating them as well".

The Republicans and Trump thought they had Pelosi and the Democrats by the balls but it seems they underestimated them.

I laud this action totally. It is smart, it is shrewd and it is being done in Trump's/McConnell backyard where they have had total control up until an old woman came in and beat their a**.

The polling data I've seen says that independents already think, by a small margin, that Trump should be impeached & removed from office.

Any Senate "trial" would be a total sham, what with most Republicans already announcing how they'd vote, McConnell actually consulting with the White House about how to proceed, etc. I think most independents know this.

Watch that small margin disappear if Trump does not get his day at trial AT ALL.

By the same token 71% of the Country thinks the witnesses and documents that have been withheld should be released to the Impeachment proceedings. So Pelosi and Schumer have some rope to pay out.

Pelosi has already told us what she is looking for. She will not name the Floor Managers for the Senate Process until the rules have been decided or at least a framework for them. So that is a process argument and its a good one. Would you name your trial attorney without having some idea what he will face? She has already told us then that she is more concerned about the process in the Senate proceedings and what headway she can make there than she is about additional evidence. She is more concerned that McConnell just turns this thing into a sham under a facade of legitimacy. She probably thinks the number of witnesses and documents she can get this way is limited and I agree with her. She will likely get some of what she wants in witnesses and documents but not all.

Schumer is making the witnesses and documents argument. But Schumer has no power at this point to do anything. His power is being derived from Pelosi. So I am OK with him making his witnesses and documents argument.

I first heard about this from journalist Carl Bernstein a couple of weeks ago that it would be a wise strategy. The more and more I hear about it, the more and more I like it.

I also think Rep. Slotkin is right this morning when she says eventually it has to come to a head and the trial must proceed. But in the meantime, it provides the Dems with valuable bargaining chips to force a fair trial in the Senate. After all, the GOP has been obsessed with PROCESS for the last few months so you would think they will bend over backwards to provide the fairest forum ever conceived of for the Senate Trial.

In a very wise and shrewd move, Nancy Pelosi is not sending the two articles of impeachment to the Senate. Why? Because she doesn't trust Mitch McConnell to run a fair trial in the Senate. Pelosi wants guarantees from McConnell that it will be a real, impartial trial with real witnesses.

I'm going to stand by my original prediction -- Trump will be removed from office by the Senate. We have not heard all of the evidence yet. If John Bolton and Mick Mulvaney testify, Trump will not survive this.

Doubt it. Grand jury material or not, the Mueller Report is about an election that is past and it is and was mired in the complications of multiple parties of multiple nationalities involved in various aspects of that case.

THIS is about messing with an upcoming election. Those involved are for the most part current government officials and the leadership of a foreign power. The exception is Rudy and his goon squad. Rudy and his goons are not more than evidence that Trump will stop at nothing. In actual fact, they are a side show now. We don't have wikileaks and Assange in the middle as a cutout. We don't have GRU officers manning keyboards that will not face their Indictments. We don't have Stone. We don't have a guy like Manafort cooperating and then running to the WH. We don't have whack job Flynn or even whack job Gates and we don't even have the wild cards of cowardly yellow dog Rosenstein and politial hack Barr to deal with here.

The Articles of Impeachment and their premise is a much more straightforward and manageable mouthful for the American public which Mueller, Grand Jury info and all will NEVER be. The House will keep asking for it though. There is a gold mine there, but not as it relates to the proceedings that will be before the Senate.

You're projecting that you have values onto them. They are HAPPY to do gown that way in the history books. And the people who worsened plutocracy, steal elections, cut American healthcare for the American people, destroyed the climate - they don't care.

If Bolton, Mulvaney, and Giuliani are forced to testify, then I don't think Trump can survive this. If we ever see the full transcript of the Ukraine phone call, then it will also damage Trump further.

McConnell knows how damning this will be, which is why he is trying to prevent it from happening.

If it's already a sure thing that Trump will be acquitted, then why wouldn't McConnell just allow these people to testify and fight for all of the evidence to be presented? After all, this is what Trump said he wants -- a long trial. It should tell you something that McConnell is so resistant to doing this.

Pelosi has every right to challenge Trump's request for executive privilege in court. What Pelosi doesn't have the right to do (nor you) is to deny Trump an executive privilege request.

Why don't you explain executive privilege to me instead? By your definition, Trump has a right to deny ALL Congressional subpoenas? Nixon and Clinton didn't do this.
