Quote( As home to pop legend Michael Jackson, Neverland Ranch housed a working locomotive, a Ferris wheel and other amusement park rides, a 10,000-volume library and a zoo.

But could the opulent Santa Barbara County estate become home to California's newest state park?

A resolution is in the works to order state parks officials to study converting the roughly 2,600-acre property into a state park. The state NAACP is backing the idea, and a lawmaker has signaled he is on board to carry the legislation.)

What a perfectly reasonable idea if California was not totally broke.

I somehow doubt the Jackson estate administrators would gift this ranch to California, but even were they to do this, they would also need to be the ones to provide for the States upkeep, assuming the revenue from visitors was insufficient.

didn't MJ sell neverland in '95 to cover his substantial debts
if so, then neverland is not the estate's to hand over to cali

I don't know why the NAACP is involved in anything about Michael Jackson. Don't they focus more on black people?

Wonder if the NAACP would be willing to fund the park? Just what CA needs, another park to add to their already debt.
