Basically here’s what I don’t get. Wanting America to be like Mexico. Isn’t that where they are leaving? Why do you feel America should have to sing our national anthem in Spanish? Have our signs in Spanish? Or anything else that accomodates Spanish speakers. Do we start also adding a space for French, Dutch and Chinese? I mean seriously. Where does it stop. Do we start copying out bills in Spanish also?

I believe that people have the right to live anywhere they want on God’s green earth. But…but there are rules and regulations. That’s just life. I mean that stems from the Bible on down to human law. I believe that if you take the process of becoming a citizen than that is just fine. Go head, but do not make demands of a country because you disagree with their policy. Why not storm your own gov’t. Their slack and lack of democracy is why you left anyways. So do not come to America and spit on in our faces, you need to actually take up slack at home.

They want to “rule” and control our gov’t and bash it. Well what about yours? Another beef, the complaint about the land being Mexico’s. Umm okay I can roll with that. If we give it back to Mexico, are you going to stay in MEXICO, the land we give back? Because if its about land than have at it. But truly it’s not because then the boarder will just be a little “higher” on the map. Still want to come to the good ole’ USA.

Why try to make America like Mexico? Isn’t that why you are leaving? Lest forget the phrase “when in Rome, do as the Romans do.” It’s a metaphor, it applies. Use it.

Become a citizen fine. More power to you. But do not make demands on a country that you are not apart of. If you don’t like the rules than leave. That applies to all of us. Period. When you are illegal you have no rights. Period.

This is seriously only my opinion. If you do not like our rules and how we define and classify "illegal" can you seriously protest our government? I would encourage all ILLEGAL immigrants to challenger their own government so they won't be so apt to leave their culture and country to come here.

There culture is imposed on us when we start accomodating more of their things than our own. It is imposed, look at having to learn Spanish. If I go to France guess what I need to know a little French and do my best communicate in French. My bad if I didn't take the time to learn their language. That's what I'm talking about. And then having signs in both english and spanish, in Greece I can't expect that, I have to come with some knowledge of Greek.

It would be bad because no more would you like my family and friends embarging into your home and rearranging furniture, asking you that you speak like we speak, demanding you serve us, and do things for us, do we want the same as Americans. If you invite me thats' different, if I show up and ask and follow your rules thats diffrent. But If i sneak into your home and act as if it's my own, and demand things you'll be a little pissed.

We have to force our already financially strapped public schools go out and hire translators because kids illegal kids are showing up for school yet can't speak a word of English.

Or how about the President of Mexico declaring that we do not have the right to use our own troops to secure our own borders, even with his own military invading - escorting drug dealers across our borders and firing on Border Patrol agents, while threatening to sue the U.S. Goverment if an Illegal Immigrant is injured because he has to travel to a more dangerous place to illegally come into our country because our military has all the 'safe' spots guarded!? :shock:

Our politicians are selling this country's future for the 'promise' of 12+ Million soon-to-be-legal Latino voters. (Well, at least they will finaly be vting LEGALLY!)

FINALLY! We got some people on here (besides me) with some dagone intelligence! (Kudos to easyt65 and latisha1903)

Why is it that these criminal aliens get to come here and just go along for the ride and get served everything, while my ancestors (and others) had to come here the hard way and register? Are people that retarded that they'll allow anybody to come in here unchecked and unchallenged? And everytime someone, like a sherrif, tries to arrest or deport these criminals the race card is put into play. And I ask: WHY? What does race have to do with it? Not every criminal alien is hispanic. You got asians, europeans, arabs, africans, you name it, they're here.

Also, what is so hard about following rules and coming here legally? If they can't follow a simple set of rules then they have no business being here. We got enough of our own criminals to deal with! If I went to Scotland I'd be expected to follow their laws and their rules. Why the double-standard here?

'Well, they're poor and can't afford a green card or a visa to come here.' So? They can afford to give their lives to come here thru a merciless desert or a raging Gulf? If they're gonna do that then why don't they just storm Mexico City and have Vicente Fox removed and make a new gov't? The Mexican gov't can't shoot all their citizens.

'But when they come here they pay taxes; and we need the extra taxes because of Bush's tax cuts for the rich!' More pure, 100%, unadulterated bullshiz! The only taxes a n illegal immigrant pays is sales tax. That's it. No death tax, no local/state/federal income taxes, (probably) no property taxes, no welfare/social security taxes; and you know why? Because they are criminal aliens that never bothered to come here legally so therefore they aren't citizens. And only American Citizens pay American taxes.

Also, I have to pay to use the emergency room, the illegals don't. They get it for free. I couldn't get tuition paid for college (because my parents make too much money; although we're middle class), criminal aliens get their tuitions paid; how I don't know. It's BS. The non-citizens get better treatment than the citizens. And all for a few (illegal) votes. What's this country coming to?

I wish we could pull off another Gene Rodenberry and create a chip that is implanted in the brain at birth that allows everyone to understand each other, regardless what language they speak. Like a French person would sound like they are speaking English to me, when really they are speaking in French. Or vice-versa where if I'm speaking in English to a German it would sound like I was speaking German to him, although I was actually speaking in English. Does this make sense? I tried to explain to the best of my ability.

I'm all for children learning a different language. If so a parent chooses or if a child so chooses. Like I would really want my child to know more than ONE language. But it will NOT be forced upon them. And I don't want them sitting in their SENIOR year of college waiting on two SPANISH classses to graduate. That makes NO sense. Because seriously our children need to perfect their own difficult language first. So I'm glad there are others on this board that feel where I'm coming from.

I'm not trying to be mean, or un-sympathatic. But as a poster said before we don't want to end up looking like Rome, or in this case Mexico. Because obviously it's a place they are leaving, why would we want to imitate their country?

So this is America. If you don't like the way we operate, guess what...LEAVE. All the free stuff and pushing for rights. Illegals don't have rights, not rights to vote and free stuff.

Like if a person is selling heroin, they don't have rights. They are doing illegal activity. So guess what, not tax break, not help from the gov't nothing like that. That's the risk you take when you do something illegal or are illegal. Period.

Absolutely right - this is about an 'invasion' of the U.S.

Mexicans crossing the border illegally are criminals who are trying to circumvent the process and thereby deny the United States of its sovereign right to control its borders and its immigration policy. They are trespassing, destroying private property, and in many other cases, committing other crimes. Not all are Mexican, as the CIA recently shut down a HAMAS terrorist smuggling ring that was smuggling its own members into the United States.

We have had several marches by illegals and legal Latinos. They walked off their jobs, carried signs that declared they did not want to be part of the U.S. but were here to reclaim land which they believe is theirs! They carried Mexican flags and threatened politicians with banners that declared 'Today we march, tomorrow we vote.' In the crowds, ABC and CBS gave reports showing DNC workers busy registering as many illegal Latinos as possible in preparation for the Amnesty and Citizenship that is boud to follow shortly. Politicians are thinking only of the 12+ Million Latino votes that stand in the balance instead of the 12+ Million criminals who demand 'their rights' and who demand the U.S. Goverment reward their illegal activities to get here rather than them trying to follow our system. By their illegal entry into the U.S.,they have continued to show disdain and disrespect for this nation and for our laws! Their answer? "Shutup and give us citizenship! You need us and we are no t leaving - in fact, more of us are coming here daily!"

There is a section of small 'towns' along the border in Arizona the Mexican who live there are now calling, translated in English, The Colonies. they have set up a town and openly declare that it is now part of Mexico and not the U.S. many immigrants who are asked say they do not want to be part of the U.S., but the work is here and the land is theirs anyway!

You have President Fox and the Goverment of Mexico dictating American Immigration policy, or at least trying to. They have filed (in some cases SUCCESSFUL) lawsuits already against U.S. citizens who have defended their property from these criminals' tress pass and 'attack'. Our ridiculous federal court system has even found in their favor and has seized and turned over several American farms/homes to the Illegals who were tresspassing to begin with. Now Fox is telling Bush that he will sue the U.S. goverment if they ut troops onthe border because it will cause his 'criminals' to go to more dangerous parts of the border to carry out their illegal activity of sneaking into our country. Fox says he is just trying to protect his people. (If he is trying to protect his people, how about preventing the Mexicans from attempting to break our laws in the 1st place, endangering themselves in the process?!) Meanwhile, corrupt members/units of the Mexican Military have been escorting drug dealers across our border, and they have even reportedly fired on border patrol agents during these times - an act of WAR!

U.S. Companies are breaking the law by hiring these illegals and none of our laws are being enforced to stop it! The companies are padding the pockets ofour politicians. So are the Mexican goverment and groups. Throw in the 12+ Million votes up for grabs once they become citizens, and the politicians are hesitant to do anything to defend this nation or stop the illegal flood threatening the country!

A Federal study reported that the illegals already here are draining an estimated $30-40 Million a year MORE from our economy than they are putting into it. If they become citizens, they become eligible for every social program we offer and that amount will rise to an estimated $70-80 Million a year, an amount legal citizens now will have to cover with more taxes! Making them citizens will also be a beacon to others, a roadmap on how to become an American citizen and start sucking off the American t!t for free without having to abide by any of our laws - it will encourage more to follow.

In the wake of our Giverment's failure, a civilian militia has had to rise up and step in to protect our borders. They have offered to build their own fences and patrol the borders between our two nations. We found out recently, though, that our own goverment was tipping off the Mexican Govt as to the location of the minutemen, assisting the Mexican Govt. in helping illegals cross our border.

Bush has agreed to send 6K of Natl Gard to the border. It is a start but not enough. Bush promised to put 10K more border guards on duty but has never sent the request for funding before congress! Many think that his gesture is pure appeasement, much like the new Immigration legislation being discussed in congress, in order to appease and shut up America, instead of enforcing existing laws that would go a tremendous way towards stopping Illegalimmigration!

This is NOT about race:
- It is about an invasion of the United States.
- It is about the miserable failure of our Federal Goverment and its inept Immigration policy.
- It is about Political Correctness, the policy of Apology, and the Appeasement of other goverments and its people...
- It is about betrayal by U.S. companies who are aiding and abetting the illegal activity all in the name of PROFIT.....and
- It is about the betrayal by our politicians who are selling this nation out for votes and money.....

Why is it that a perfectly fine conversation is always disrupted by the sentiments of ignorance? When in doubt, throw a race card. Surely we can debate without miring ourselves into petty simplicities that have no place in intelligent thought. Societal progress throughout history is always stagnated by the extreme right's need for strict structure and the pathetic weak sensibilities (often fabricated) of the extreme left. Either way, ignorance is behind the reigns.

There is nothing racist about pointing out "illegal" immigrants and the lack of conversational skills in minority America, especially considering that much of minority America does nothing to educate themselves. Instead, they wish for America to dumb down to their level. The word "racist" has become the catch all for ignorant people who can't understand conversation that is beyond them.

Dude, we are all racist and bigoted in our own 'special' way. Even you, me, the guy down the street from me. Everybody. Besides, how was attaching a hispanic name to a hispanic person racist? If I called a white man Billy Bob, would that be racist? Or if I called a black woman Shaquell?

I have heard one fellow on this board argue that we should not penalize illegal immigrants that are here and that we have no right to close the borders. I have said to him that he should not complain then when illegals who are here illegally, without visas, un-checked, fly 747s into our sky scrapers, killing thousands of our own citizens!

I assume this is me so I'll respond. First off, non of the people who hijacked 747's were illegal and none came through the Mexico-US border. All of them were legal as they were recieving student visas.

Several of the perpetrators of 9/11 were reportedly here on expired visas.

If you argue that a soveriegn nation does not have the right, especially after 9/11, to defend its own borders and have a set procedure for entry into the country - the way that Mexico/Fox is doing now - then you are inviting disaster, anarchy, and collapse, as the Roman Empire experienced.

I'm not saying we don't defend our borders, I'm just saying let's not criminalize and ban people from fleeing poverty in hopes of prosperity. I do think we need certain reform and by this I mean allowing anyone who's not a terrorist to come here without being crimanalized.
