Throughout the USA history, there have been numerous abhorrent events where lives were lost in the name of a belief; a faith; a way of life; an extreme view from an ideology, and so on. What’s perplexing is the lack of awareness toward prior events of the above, relating to a matter of a simple place of worship being built in NYC.
Our US Constitution should matter in the same way it was constructed. Regardless the force against, this constitutional structure should not be disregarded as mere words, but rather as our collective way of being.
No matter the act or acts against this great nation, this Constitution must continue to be our democratic way of life.
Our Constitution states in the first amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech”.
No person in America gets to choose who is entitled to this right. No one! Not even those who lost love ones on that day in 2001. No one can state the founding fathers did not have extreme pressure against them in the face of war. In the face of being labeled a traitor, especially if the concept of a Constitution would have fell apart.
Our president needs to stand firm and firmly tell the people in America, no one person can or should disregard our Constitution simply because it bothers you to give this right onto others.
