PORTLAND, Ore. - A Monday evening rally to celebrate the death of Osama Bin Laden has been cancelled due to security concerns, reports CBS affiliate KOIN.
"Just the reaction of last nights' news has been different, in different communities and we have been getting emails. Some have been supportive - sending best wishes and there are really 'out there' emails," said Salma Ahmad, President of the Islamic Society of Greater Portland.
Ahmad didn't go into detail about the threats but it could be coming from both people who have an axe to grind with Muslims and Muslims who sympathize with Osama Bin Laden and his principles.

Whatever the threat was it was enough to cancel the rally which was to take place at Pioneer Courthouse Square between 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Ahmed says news of Bin Laden's death has brought a sense of closure.
"He has become such a symbol that has hurt the image of American Muslins. He has hurt lots of different lives around the world," she said.
They were celebrating Osamas death!!!! Opppppps! Feel stupid yet jerk threat guys!?!?

Bin Laden and Al Qaeda peddled a perverted and twisted interpretation of religion.
Bin Laden's theology a radical break with traditional Islam – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs
The reality is that terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc., often rationalize their conduct in the name of religion. However, their interpretations of religion have little to do with a proper understanding and context of religion. That Muslims living in the U.S. are relieved from Bin Laden's having been brought to justice should not be all that surprising. Polling data has shown in the past that the vast majority of American Muslims are not extremists. Many also believe that Bin Laden's actions have been damaging to how people view Islam.
So they were planning an event to celebrate the death of Bin Laden and they were getting threats for it? WTF?
If you can't celebrate the death of UBL who'd death can you celebrate? Hitler? Stalin? Who??????
People at this level of hatred are blind to details like this. Muslim = bad. Muslim event = bad event. Must stop bad event. That's about how it goes through their head.
OBL sympathizers making threats would have a pretty similar mentality.
They need to know there is no need to have parties in the streets over deaths etc. They can leave that behind in their mother country. A part of their culture that is neanderthal and trust me American women have had enough of this BS. They should take that macho attitude and go rebuild their land.
So they were planning an event to celebrate the death of Bin Laden and they were getting threats for it? WTF?
