On Wednesday, Musk’s team, along with two senior veterans from the agency, has been meticulously reviewing the CMS’s payment and contracting systems, which are crucial for managing health insurance for approximately one in every four Americans, according to far-left USA Today.​

“CMS has two senior Agency veterans – one focused on policy and one focused on operations – who are leading the collaboration with DOGE, including ensuring appropriate access to CMS systems and technology,” the agency said in a statement to Reuters.​

The DOGE team was granted read-only access to the system.​

Their mission, as outlined by Andrew G. Nixon, the HHS director of communications, is to identify “opportunities for more effective and efficient use of resources” in alignment with President Trump’s efficiency agenda.​

What's missing here is the data, and the criteria used to identify waste. Simply announcing it means bugger all, and as a business person, he should know this. It's almost like he's announcing this for folks who don't expect hard evidence.

At this point DOGE has saved us 0 dollars. They're just tweeting out bullshit for sycophants to vomit all over the internet and be like "See what Musk found!!!!".

There's no details, no oversight, no corroboration of claims. They just force access to something and then claim they've found blah blah blah dollars.

My point was evidence of Medicare/Medicaid fraud had been found for years, thus DOGE announcing that such fraud exists is like saying DOGE found that water is wet.

There's likely some level of it. But I don't believe a damned thing Musk says and no rational person would. How much? Where? How do we address it without breaking the system? There's no real answers or plans for their "break the doors down" style "audit".

This is why we need proper audits with real oversight, trained individuals, proper reports, and plans of action.
