Just because it isn't outwardly violent doesn't mean it isn't meant to be intimidating.
It's clearly meant to show Muslims that this is a Christian area and that they better realize that they are a minority here.
Do you have any evidence of this are you just speculating?
Grace Baptist moved into its current home of about 6,000 square feet two years ago and is currently served by interim pastor Dan Watts.
The mosque next door has been the subject of intense scrutiny and debate in the past two years, including vandalism to its sign, a bomb threat, arson to construction equipment on site and a lawsuit to block its construction. Plaintiffs unsuccessfully argued in court that Islam is not a religion
my emphasisBecause the establishment in question is not necessary for the support of Civil Government. If it be urged as necessary for the support of Civil Government only as it is a means of supporting Religion, and it be not necessary for the latter purpose, it cannot be necessary for the former. If Religion be not within the cognizance of Civil Government how can its legal establishment be necessary to Civil Government? What influence in fact have ecclesiastical establishments had on Civil Society? In some instances they have been seen to erect a spiritual tyranny on the ruins of the Civil authority; in many instances they have been seen upholding the thrones of political tyranny: in no instance have they been seen the guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wished to subvert the public liberty, may have found an established Clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just Government instituted to secure & perpetuate it needs them not. Such a Government will be best supported by protecting every Citizen in the enjoyment of his Religion with the same equal hand which protects his person and his property; by neither invading the equal rights of any Sect, nor suffering any Sect to invade those of another.
The Founders of this nation explicitly included Islam in their vision of the future of the republic. Freedom of religion, as they conceived it, encompassed it. Adherents of the faith were, with some exceptions, regarded as men and women who would make law-abiding, productive citizens. Far from fearing Islam, the Founders would have incorporated it into the fabric of American life.
None of that stuff has anything to do with the churches in the OP story.Unless you got some evidence that the church members whose churches are miles away from the mosque are the ones who vandalized the mosque and filed lawsuits to keep the mosque from being builtA long article from the local paper, The Tennessean, covers the problems that Muslims have faced and are continuing to deal with. Lots of bigotry and ignorance is revealed

jamesrage has made seven posts in which he stated "the church is miles from the mosque", which is true for one of the two churches named in the OP but the other one is directly across the street from the new mosque as shown in the photograph that leads off the linked article
the eighth post with this claim about "miles away from the mosque"
These threads always turn into a flame all Christians thread with a taste of flame all organized religion.

If you clicked on any of the church names and mosque names in the article and looked at their addresses you can clearly tell they are not across the street from the mosque. So when I say miles away from the mosque it is accurate.

When the congregation of Grace Baptist Church held services in its new building last month, no protesters marched outside to mark the occasion. It's doubtful that protesters will gather later this month when the church throws an all-day party to dedicate the new brick building on the corner of Bradyville Pike and Veals Road. The words "Not Welcome" will probably not be spray-painted on the new church's sign.
The same cannot be said for the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, which owns the neatly mown 15-acre field next to Grace Baptist
Social leftists are as dumb as rocks; they praise Evolution, but curse the process.

Murfreesboro church's crosses offer message to Muslims
This is the net result of Bachmann-type ignorance. People get their heads filled with false ideas about Islam and Muslims and then they engage in this type of dickishness--making people feel unwelcome etc.
Freedom of Religion applies to all faiths.
Just one problem - the address for the mosque is the one for the location they have been using for several years, it's an industrial building in a neighbourhood of small businesses. It is the yet to be occupied new mosque which is located across the street from the Grace Baptist Church, as is clearly shown in the photograph of the OP article.

As long as they don't put a cross on the Mosque property and light it on fire, I don't see a problem.
Who did it belong to? The red people? I wasnt aware that the left now advocates race based property rights.I'm not sure you read the full article.
There was a lot more to it than the crosses.
The so-called 'Christian' community in the town was going out of their way to make these people feel unwelcome.
That kind of mean-spirited taunting and troublemaking leads to what happened at the Sikh temple. It just takes one loose cannon in the group who things he has to prove himself.
These WHITE people think that America is there country and only their's. It was never really their's to begin with.
